About this property

Tucked away 10 minutes’ walk from the harbour in Torquay in Devon is The White House.

This wonderful, white-washed holiday home benefits from off-road parking which is a rarity in this coastal town, a rear, enclosed, gravelled courtyard with furniture and gas barbecue, and a welcoming interior adorned with local artwork depicting the seaside and two well-appointed bedrooms perfect for small families or friends looking to explore the wonders of the coast.

Cross the threshold to be greeted by a spacious kitchen/diner where the designated chef of the group can whip up tasty meals for the whole family.

Or, if the sun is shining, why not step outside and fire up the gas barbecue for an alfresco affair where you can toast your retreat with a glass of fizz as the stars begin to fill the sky.

On colder evenings, snuggle up on the plush corner sofa in front of the TV ahead of catching your rest in either the double bedroom or twin; both are fitted with handy en-suite shower rooms and TVs perfect for lazy mornings!

Great location if not a little hilly but close to the harbour which was excellent. Nice little touches for our dog. A few board games we made use of on our first night as it was very wet out. However, description of cottage doesn’t mention shared outdoor space. This is access for an apartment. Could do with knowing this before booking. Outdoor space hasn’t been used by anyone for a long time! Was quite hot when we were there would have been nice to sit out but covered by trees and cobwebs. No blinds at that rear door so people passing through can see in! Make sure you’re dressed! Only one pan to cook up a ‘culinary delight’ as advertised. Not many utensils but we weren’t that bothered as we ate out every night. The sofa could do with being replaced. Very flat and old and very uncomfortable. No mention of the parking being at the bottom of a dark driveway. Only one security light stayed on for seconds. Not enough to get up the hill to the house. The photo in the advert shows parking bays at the front door. These seem to be for the owners only. Misleading. We had an issue with neighbours one night which was very scary, shouting in the street then in the premises. Torquay itself, we had a great week away.

We were made to feel very welcome by the owners. We loved the welcome pack it was a nice touch . We really appreciated the milk for a cup of tea & treats for our dogs on our arrival.
