Guests have praised Sheerwater for its excellent location with stunning views and proximity to Appledore. The property is well-maintained, clean, and equipped with modern amenities. Despite some concerns about the exterior and parking, the interior comfort and thoughtful touches have been appreciated, ensuring a pleasant stay.
The property has been consistently described as clean and well-maintained, indicating high standards of cleanliness.
The location is highly regarded for its amazing views and accessibility to local attractions, although the exterior design of the estate has received mixed feedback.
The property is generally considered comfortable, but suggestions for less clutter in the double bedroom indicate room for improvement.
Facilities are well-equipped and the property appears to be well-maintained, with a recently refurbished bathroom. However, privacy concerns due to neighbouring decking slightly affect the score.
There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches beyond the provision of facilities, so it is not possible to score this category.

This was a clean well equipped apartment in a good location for exploring the North Devon coast and areas of West Devon like Tavistock and NT properties such as The Finch Foundry and Castle Drogo. The view from the accommodation is excellent, however the 1960’s estate it is on is of an incredibly unattractive design, although litter free and everyone we spoke to welcoming of holiday visitors. The apartment benefits from being at the very end of the block in the top row of flats on the right hand edge of the development, with views from the entrance balcony in a number of directions. We experienced no issues with parking, either in the bays by the garages or on the road. As the details on the website advise there are several flights of steps to the apartment so if unpacking or packing the car in wet weather you will get wet!The double bedroom, whilst very comfortable, would benefit from a ‘less is more’ approach with furniture, the exceptionally large desk and 2 chairs really limiting the space which would otherwise have been fine. The main drawback is the decision of the flat below to build decking into the rear slope backing on to their garden at eye level with the windows of the 2 bedrooms and rear window of the lounge/diner which really impinged on privacy when in the apartment. Whilst this could, in part, be ameliorated in the twin bedroom by keeping the blind down the double bedroom and dining area would benefit from a sheer blind to maintain light and privacy. A few minutes walk along the public footpath just beyond the apartment takes you to a rocky bay with a slipway very popular with local swimmers and a short stroll takes you into Appledore itself with its narrow streets and small independent shops, cafes, deli and pubs.Nearest supermarkets are in Bideford (Morrisons and Tesco) and for others including Sainsbury’s it’s a short drive to Barnstaple. The apartment was excellent value for money and the bathroom looked to have been recently refurbished and the kitchen well equipped.
