Situated on the owners’ 300-acre, working dairy farm with some public footpaths passing through, these three semi-detached, converted barns are ideal for a relaxing holiday with a quiet lane passing by. Milk Churn (ref UKC2400) sleeps four, Hay Rick (ref UKC2401) sleeps 8 and Scrumpy Barn (ref UK12014) sleeps 6. They have all been decorated and furnished to a very good standard. The Milk Churn and Scrumpy Barn have an open plan living space, whilst Hay Rick offers a spacious living/dining room and separate kitchen. Each have private outside seating areas, with amazing views across the Devon countryside, which is perfect for sitting down at the end of the day with a glass of wine.
The properties are set in a quiet village location and are only a short walk from the local village pub/restaurant. There are many walks that can be taken on the farm, see the cows go in for milking or just enjoy the peace and quiet. Dartmoor is just a short car drive away, where you can enjoy a Devon cream tea in one of the small beautiful villages. Take a walk on the Tors or stop to see the ponies.
Exeter and Plymouth are both within a 30-minute drive. Plymouth has the Hoe, Barbican and many shops, and Exeter has its cathedral and quay. Teignmouth beach is less than 4 miles away and is ideal for a day out at the seaside. Visit Dawlish Warren, where you will find a nature reserve, beach, amusements and pubs. Torquay, Brixham and Dartmouth are also all worth visiting. Fans of Agatha Christie can visit Greenway, her family holiday home, which is open to the public. Beach 4 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

We have just returned from a week at Hay Rick. All positive from the cream tea on arrival. The kitchen is the most well equipped that we have stayed in. Perfect for the Sunday roast we cooked. Lots of cutlery, crockery, glasses pots and pans of all descriptions, can't fault it. The downstairs bedroom and bathroom were a bonus. It was a very warm property considering it was the first week in September. Jan and David the owners lived next door and came to introduce themselves on our first evening, they were very understanding, thoughtful and kind towards my husband who found the steps down to the property and long walks difficult. We had a lovely tour of the farm, helped to feed the new born calves and milk the cows, wonderful experience. We wouldn't hesitate to go back we enjoyed it so much.

Hay Rick turned out to be a fantastic holiday spot—peaceful, well-appointed, and perfectly located for exploring the South Devon coast. 🌊 **Location perks:** Just 15 minutes from the sandy stretches of Teignmouth and Dawlish Warren, and only about half an hour from the lively seaside towns of Torquay, Paignton, and Brixham. Whether you’re after beach walks, fish and chips, or a bit of local charm, everything’s within easy reach.🏡 **Comfort & hospitality:** The accommodation was beautifully furnished, with thoughtful touches throughout. The welcome cream tea was a lovely surprise—warm scones, clotted cream, and jam set the tone for a relaxing stay.🎯 **Fun & entertainment:** The games room was a hit with everyone. From competitive rounds of pool to laid-back board game nights, it added a great social element to the trip.All in all, Hay Rick delivered a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and coastal charm. Would definitely recommend for families or small groups looking to unwind and explore.
