About this property

Resting in the heart of Dartmouth, down a quiet lane, is this magnificent mid-terrace cottage, The Hideaway. Situated just a few minutes walk from pubs, restaurants, shops and the town’s famous waterfront, this welcoming abode is a magnificent choice for families or couples looking for a coastal base in Devon. After a day of exploring, the open-plan living space will welcome your return; take a seat on the sofa and tune into the Smart TV, or step into the kitchen area and get the cooker on as you prepare a favourite dish for all. The addition of a washing machine means you won’t have to pack your whole wardrobe, while the dishwasher aids the cleaning up! On sunnier evenings, venture out to the enclosed rear garden and dine alfresco style at the furniture, or simply sit back and reflect on the days adventures. As you look to catch up on sleep, there are two beautifully presented bedrooms to choose from, including a king-size with en-suite shower facilities on the second floor and a twin on the ground floor. Begin the morning with a freshen up in the family bathroom before pulling on your walking boots and heading for the door. Ideally positioned for enjoying all that South Devon has to offer, why not take to the breathtaking South West Coast Path easily accessible from the property and providing walking opportunities galore. The centre of Dartmouth is filled with well-established restaurants to dine from, while the many independent shops are perfect for bringing a gift to take back home. For a taste of history, spend an afternoon at the 14th-century castle or explore the 16th-century, riverside landmark of Bayard's Cove Fort. If you are visiting with younger guests, unwind on the sandy beach of Blackpool Sands or venture out to the Woodlands Family Theme Park. Travel further afield to the seaside town of Paignton and explore the Zoo, home to exotic animals including the Bornean Orangutan and Cotton-Top Tamarin. The Hideaway is a charming base for a refreshing stay with your nearest and dearest.

Would stay there again in a heartbeat

For the two of us (and pur dog) it was perfect for 4 adults living space would have been cramped. Parking permit was great bonus, only 5 minute walk away but could unload car with luggage before parking. Thank you for the welcome pack. A recommendations/ideas book would have been good. Heat sensor kept going off first evening while cooking.

Will consider staying again on one of our many visits to Dartmouth. Only one criticism, the sofas are the most uncomfortable things I've ever tried to sit in.
