About this property

Resting in the picturesque village of Dittisham, Devon, overlooking the landscape of River Dart is Sunday School, a characterful three-bedroom abode. Enjoying far-reaching views across the river and a convenient location near an array of amenities, whilst benefiting from an EV charging point, a contemporary interior, and original beams, vaulted ceilings, and exposed stonework, the property welcomes upto eight guests, ideal for a family or group getaway. Park up outside before entering Sunday School, climb the stairs up to the open-plan living space; be wowed by the chic design of this space, mixing both traditional and contemporary fixtures, including a grand dining table, vaulted ceilings, a plush corner sofa, woodburning stove, a well-equipped kitchen, and a Juliet balcony. To make the most of your peaceful surroundings, venture outdoors to the multi-level garden, where you can lounge, prepare a barbecue, and spend some quality time together with breath-taking vistas from the raised terrace. Return indoors to freshen up in the ground-floor bathroom, before selecting between three well-presented bedrooms; you'll find a welcoming king-size with en-suite, and a bunk room with trundle and single sofa bed on the ground floor, followed by a king-size with a bespoke bed and patio doors to the garden on the first floor. Awaken in this fabulous home-from-home, just a stone's throw away from the popular Ferry Boat Inn pub, and Anchorstone restaurant and the river front where you can catch a ferry across to Greenway Quay and Greenway House, the home of Agatha Christie or each a boat trip down to the historic town of Dartmouth. After reaching the bustling town, enjoy a tour of Dartmouth Museum, hire a paddle boat and explore the river, discover the grand structure of Dartmouth Castle, take a stroll across Sugary Cove Beach, or take a hike across Little Dartmouth, a nature reserve dotted with wildlife. Finish off your trip by visiting Totnes Castle or brushing up on your local knowledge at Totnes Museum and Archives, before exploring some more of South Devon AONB. Experience all of this, and more, at Sunday School.

Dittisham, a charming village in the South Hams situated on the banks of the River Dart and surrounded by open farmland, is a popular tourist destination. Walk till you reach the waterfront amid the peaceful alleyways surrounded with charming stone homes and lush gardens. The quayside in Dittisham is frequently thought of as the centre of the community. Visit the Anchorside Café for breakfast and enjoy the breath-taking views of the river. On the dinghy pontoon, try your hand at some crab-catching with the youngsters. Go to the well-known pink Ferry Boat Inn (or FBI as it is known locally). Reaching Greenway, the former vacation home of the legendary Agatha Christie, requires ringing the ferry bell and crossing the Dart. There are several attractive treks and sailing courses available for outdoor recreation. Just a short drive or ferry ride away, the harbour town of Dartmouth has a variety of stores, a movie theatre, many of dining options, and even a castle.

The house otherwise was beautifully decorated and accurately reflected in the photographs. Very nice stay, thank you.

Lovely outlook across the river Dart, from the living room. Immaculate, comfortable, excellent bedding, everything in it's place. A retreat you enjoy returning to after spending the day out and about.

We enjoyed walks down to the jetty, ferry trips to Darmouth and surrounding areas. The cottage is well equipped with everything you could need for a week or more's holiday.
