Near Seaton in south Devon, you'll find the charming fishing village of Beer. Because of its location between two limestone cliffs, the shingle beach was originally a prime area for smuggling, and the neighbouring caverns, which are today visited by tourists, once housed valuable contraband. Beer is a small village in Devon, England, notable for its location on the Jurassic Coast, a length of coastline that is a unesco World Heritage Site, and its winding lanes lined with attractive stone houses and cottages built at varying elevations of the steep valley sides. Beer has a variety of stores, cafes, restaurants, and bars to choose from, and the nearby Pecorama Gardens, set on a hill with a view of Lyme Bay, are a major tourist attraction. There is a children's play area and an inside model train exhibit for adults and kids alike at Pecorama's Beer Heights Light Railway. A nice destination to visit and stay is the picturesque fishing village of Beer in Devon.

We’ve stayed at The Garlands Beer twice now. The cottage is immaculately clean, cosy yet modern and all the facilities that are needed are there. Everything is done to a high standard. We were greeted by the hosts who were extremely friendly & helpful. The view from their garden (which is beautifully kept ) are breathtaking. Just a short walk into the picturesque town of Beer. We will definitely return there’s so much to visit or as we did on occasion just relax in the cottage & beautiful grounds.

We enjoyed the views from the lounge and master bedroom, despite the somewhat grey and damp weather! The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans etc, and the welcome cream tea was lovely! The king size bed was extremely comfortable but the two single beds were quite soft so our parents found their backs aching a bit by the end of the week. It would be helpful to include in the property description that the lounge is upstairs - this is not currently in the listing (I re-checked) and we may have thought twice about booking had we known, as we travelled with elderly parents who struggle with stairs. The sofa was quite low and soft which again, made it difficult for the older members of our party. There were plenty of items in the property to provide entertainment (both indoor and outdoor) which is throughtful, plus a folder full of detailed local information. The TV and washing machine were quite old - they did work but we are used more modern (and have experienced better in other holiday cottages) but overall, this house provided what we needed for an early break away.
