Situated in Port Isaac, on Cornwall’s north coast, Old Cobblers used to be the village cobbler’s shop. The two double bedrooms are both tastefully decorated – one of the rooms has an old period fireplace – and the shower room is beautifully tiled, providing a real sense of luxury. A short walk from the apartment will take you down to the harbour, where you can watch the fishing boats setting out of a morning or catch a performance from the Fisherman’s Friends. You won’t be short of places to dine out in; Port Isaac has several cafes and restaurants, including two owned and run by Michelin star chef Nathan Outlaw. If you want to expand your culinary net further then head to the lively town of Padstow, where you’ll find plenty of restaurants specialising in seafood, including several owned by Rick Stein. While in Padstow you can also visit Prideaux Place, a beautfiful Elizabethan manor house with a famous collection of works of art, and a large estate which includes a deer park. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. Only ten minutes drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike. There is ample parking at the top of the village.
