About this property

This ancient farmhouse dating back to 13th century is located on a working farm in a peaceful spot ½ mile from the hamlet of St Endellion and 1½ miles by footpath from Port Isaac. Ideal for families, this fascinating property enjoys lovely, long rural views and makes a great base for exploring this delightful part of north Cornwall. On the ground floor a well-equipped kitchen with oil-fired Rayburn for extra cosiness and dining area, plus a sitting room with a wood burning stove and lovely views over the garden and fields beyond. Upstairs three bedrooms, some with those lovely rural views: two double bedrooms and another double with a single bed, and a family shower room. Off the first floor landing is a WC with a hand basin.. Outside a spacious, shared lawn garden for relaxation with garden furniture, a trampoline and swing for boisterous youngsters. The hamlet of St Endellion, famous for two annual music festivals, is just a short stroll away, whilst the beautiful Cornish harbour of Port Isaac (of Fisherman’s Friends fame) is slightly further afield but still easily accessible by footpath. Access over 500 yards of rough hardcore lane

Port Isaac, one of the undiscovered treasures of Cornwall. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century

Close to several nice pubs that serve awesome food. Handy for Port Issac and Polzeath. Penny, the owner, was lovely and friendly, felt we had known her for ages. Definitely added to our revisit list

The sloping bedroom floors were unusual and took a bit of getting use to but it’s an ancient house so it’s bound to be quirky. It’s ideally suited for younger relatively fit families. If you have mobility issues I would not recommend. The weather was awful while we were there but it’s England and not the cottages fault . There were dvds with a fair selection mainly aimed at children which is what you want. The farm dogs do run free so just be prepared for them running in the lane and barking whenever you arrive or leave to go out. There’s a small garden area at the rear which is safe for your own dogs to use and a washing line which if the weather had been good would have been a real bonus, the aga was a great place to dry clothes and keep warm (it was a wet chilly week!). All in all an interesting well equipped property.
