Snaptrip says

Chyrosen is a well-received cottage in Cornwall, praised for its cleanliness, spaciousness, and attentive host. The large garden and cosy atmosphere are highlights, with the property being well-suited for large groups and families. Its central location allows for easy exploration of Cornish coasts. Some minor issues with utensils and soundproofing were noted, but overall, guests enjoyed their stay, with special mentions of welcoming touches like cupcakes and festive decorations.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests consistently noted the property's cleanliness, with one exception mentioning pillowcases, which was promptly resolved. The property was described as 'beautifully clean' and 'well-maintained'.

The location is frequently praised for being central, with easy access to local amenities and within driving distance to attractions. The convenience for exploring both north and south coasts is a plus.

The property is described as cosy, with good quality beds and bedding, and accommodating for large groups. However, the mention of both bathrooms being downstairs could affect comfort for some.

While the property is spacious with a well-kept garden, guests noted a lack of utensils and soundproofing issues. Despite this, the presence of a washing machine and other amenities were positive.

The host's thoughtfulness is evident through gestures like cupcakes and festive decorations. However, it should be noted that such personal touches, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

About this property

Set in the village of Crofthandy just paces away from St Day for your amenities, is this stunning holiday home, Chyrosen. On arrival, you will find ample off-road parking before stepping inside to discover the contemporary kitchen with cream glossy units. The kitchen houses everything you need for a self-catered stay with an electric oven and hob to whip up heart-warming meals. For those fuss-free cleans, the property also offers a dishwasher, along with a washing machine and tumble dryer, which can be found in the utility room. Moving through the property, locate the living/dining room, where you can unwind in front of the woodburning stove on the corner sofa as the TV plays your favourite shows. Mealtimes can be savoured together at the dining table; afterwards, continue the conversation onto the sprawling garden with a cold beverage. As the evening cools, retire inside and those with limited mobility can snuggle up in the ground-floor bedrooms, with a small double and a single to choose from. The bright and airy ground-floor bedrooms are also serviced by a shower room for convenience. Venture upstairs to find four more bedrooms on the first floor, including a king size with a TV, one more king, a double and a single bedroom, all with ample storage. Awaken tired eyes in the family bathroom with a soothing soak in the tub or a quick wash under the overhead shower. A short stroll will lead you to the village of St Day, home to a convenience store for when you need to pick up the essentials and the welcoming local pubs, the St Day Inn and the Star Inn. A scenic drive will lead you to Truro, known for its Gothic cathedral, incredible gardens, and its lively Celtic culture. The city is also home to the famous Celtic Tossers, an axe-throwing competition that attracts tourists from all over the world. If you're looking for a charming and creative seaside town to explore, look no further than St Ives. This little town is located on the picturesque coast of Cornwall and hosts a harbour, lovely beaches, and tasty seafood. Be sure to check out the Porthgwidden Beach, which is a great spot for swimming, sunbathing, and watching the waves crash ashore. For all this and more, make Chyrosen your next getaway.

St Day was named after a little-known saint named Day or Dye (better known in Brittany). The village presently features a pub and a convenience shop, as well as a granite gothic-style church from 1828. The beautiful village of Portreath is six miles away, and its wild and rugged coastline attracts visitors from all over the world. The area is characterised by high cliffs, quiet coves, and sandy, surf-washed beaches, with evidence of the area's strong industrial background all around. Portreath has a tiny fishing harbour, shops, a few pubs, three cafés, and a Chinese restaurant, in addition to its safe, sheltered sandy beach.

Fantastic house perfect for our extended family to relax, do their own thing and come together. Beautifully clean and well-maintained. Owners very prompt with responses to the odd question or two. A perfect holiday venue!

Given the age ranges of <2 to 40 across 11 ppl the accommodation was well suited. Our host Vanessa was welcoming and couldn’t have done more to maximise our stay - in advance and during our stay she was always on hand to offer any support. The location is great (everything is “30 minutes drive”) - the one draw is that sound travels extensively throughout the property so if you are a light sleeper be prepared for many disturbances unless you align sleeping schedules.

The delicious cupcakes were a great welcome. The property was clean and easy to maintain. My kids particularly loved the garden, great size to run around and play games.
