About this property

Set on a hillside within the peaceful grounds of Honicombe Manor Holiday Resort, enveloped by the beautiful Tamar Valley, is this delightful retreat, Hideaway Cottage. Ideal for family and friends looking to get away and breathe a different kind of air, this Alpine lodge boasts reverse-level accommodation, making the most of the views from the first floor. Walk through to a tastefully-decorated set of bedrooms on the ground floor, a double, a twin and two 2’6 twins, accompanied by a shower room and a Jack-and-Jill bathroom so you can get ready morning and evening with ease. There is an open-plan living room upstairs, which enjoys a fully-equipped kitchen for rustling up your best dishes, a dining area for eight, and a lovely sitting area with sumptuous seating, and TV with Freeview and DVD player. This leads out onto a sunny balcony with dining furniture and views over open countryside; a wonderful place to dine alfresco or enjoy your favourite tipple. To the exterior, the grasses are bordered by trees and a quiet patio area rest with a hot tub. Relax in the luxurious bubbles and listen to the sounds of the babbling brook running down the side of the nearby. The on-site facilities include indoor and a seasonal outdoor heated swimming pools and tennis courts, as well as use of the gym if you're feeling particularly energetic. Close by is Gunnislake hosting a small selection of shops, pubs and the Tamar Valley Railway with regular services along the riverbank to Plymouth. Cotehele is a couple of miles away near Calstock, a National Trust property and rustic, working 19th- century mill on the banks of River Tamar, with woodland walks and formal gardens. Tavistock, with its pannier market, pubs and restaurants is a must, as well as Dartmoor National Park for exploring a region of wild open moorland, distinctive tors and green fields separated by stone walls. For a relaxing escape in Cornwall, look no further than Hideaway Cottage.

Located between the residential community of Monkscross and the protected natural area of the Tamar Valley, the quaint community of St. Ann's Chapel is a welcome respite. The Tamar Valley Donkey Park and a playground are among the few attractions available in the village. There are several places to eat in the area, including the Rifle Volunteer and the Honicombe Manor Bar Rest, and a gas station where you can buy groceries. In Gunnislake, not far from the little village, is the restaurant The Rising Sun. Take in sights at Gunnislake New Bridge and The Koffi Lodge, ride some trails and climb Chimney Rock on a bike. Callington is up next, where you can visit the Callington Heritage Centre, spoil your loved ones at The Engine House At Compton Park and The Old Clink, and try some local beers at the Cornish Ancestor Micropub. Further afield is Plymouth, which is where you'll find The Box, the National Marine Aquarium, the National Trust's Saltram, Royal William Yard, and the Plymouth Gin Distillery.

    Thank you so much!

Very high humidity in the property which would be seriously a trouble for asthmatic people. Constant fight with the boiler which was tripping short circuit breaker out. We've tried to use boost and also tried to set manual temperature to 21+ to get rid of humidity which was on 80+ all the time (healthy advised is under 60 or 40, depending on the source you use). Setting was flipping back to 19 day time and 15 at night. Any site facilities might have been OK 20 years ago but nowadays they are outdated and not maintained (play room especially), so really nothing much to do in wet weather. Might br OK in dry and warm season, not good at all in autumn.
