About this property

Looe 1.8 miles. This charming, detached barn conversion rests on a complex with three other cottages, including the owner's home, with pleasant views over the countryside beyond.

Perfect for couples or a small family, Swallow Cottage is a true twist of character and charm, providing space to be with your loved ones from sunrise to sunset. Spend time in the inviting sitting room which is coordinated with faux-leather sofas and a pretty woodburning-effect fire tucked into the corner of the room. A dining table for four people lies behind the collection of seating, ideally placed next to a shelf of books and games, which you can enjoy in your downtime. Both the fresh, white kitchen, fit with all the all the necessities for your self-catering needs, and living area boast an outlook over the fields, so you can be at one with the destination as you settle down for breakfast, or snuggle up in front the TV. The lounge is the perfect place from which to spot birds and wildlife and also experience magnificent Cornish sunsets. Moving through the property two bedrooms offer sleeping quarter for your group to rest their head and benefit from oak furniture, including a chest of drawers and a wardrobe, to introduce a traditional spin to the interior. The cottage host a king-size and a bunk room, ideal for a family with younger children. A family bathroom completes the set-up, effectively designed with signature wall patterns and a bath you can soak in after a long day of discovering the local area. There are some excellent additions to the property including ramp access for those with limited mobility, and a lawned garden where the children can play together, or join you for a barbecue. East Looe boasts narrow cobbled streets, twisting alleyways and plenty of shops of interest to visitors, whilst West Looe has an outlook across to the fish quay. Spend an afternoon exploring the delightful town before treating your group to a meal out at The Sardine Factory, which offers a delicious fresh seafood menu. Looe’s viewing point, Banjo Pier, can be reached from the quay and is a great place from which to look across the bay to Looe Island, which can be walked to occasionally at very low tides. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and wide expanse of sand; why not enjoy a day of building sandcastles and paddling in the shallow waters? Slightly further afield is Porfell Wildlife Park & Sanctuary, making for a splendid day out for children and animal lovers alike; discover the exotic animals up-close, you can even sit down for lunch with lemurs! For a day out, venture into the city of Plymouth where you will find an abundance of shops, pubs restaurants and cafés as well as the National Marine Aquarium and yet more fantastic walking routes along the coastal path. Make the most of this enticing location and bring your loved ones to stay at Swallow Cottage.

The fishing port of Looe is in two parts - East Looe and West Looe. East Looe with its quay area is connected to quieter West Looe by a 19th century bridge. East Looe offers narrow cobbled streets, twisting alleyways and plenty of tourist shops, whilst West Looe has an outlook across the harbour. Bodmin Moor and the Tamar Valley are close by, as well as sandy beaches, National Trust properties, and further afield is Plymouth.
