"This property has recently been added - customer comments will appear here soon."

"Adequately equipped but no cooker. Water pressure from taps in bathroom sink very low but shower was ok ... Great location as central for getting about the area"

"Great location in respect of what we wanted to do and see. Lovely grounds. Would query "pub within one mile" and main road not pedestrian friendly."
    Susan
"The cabin was well appointed well placed for exploring the area. However, the lack of a second bedside lamp, the stained and crazed mugs, the badly cracked third bowl, the cushions and tea towels that were well past their sell by date and finally, the tissue paper thin curtains that could have been thicker! This rather took the shine off our stay. The bed was very comfortable and so was the sofa. The location was very convenient; I would liked to have sat outside but the constant rumble of traffic was intrusive."
    Stephen
"The tap in the bathroom only trickled, and the water drained from the sink before being able to complete washing. There were limited places to hang coats and could have done with a glass and toothbrush holder. Otherwise, the Roost was a very cozy and comfortable place to stay."
    Sarah
"Really had a lovely time. Very comfortable and our spaniels loved it! We will return!"
    Richard
"Property need some new furniture, sofa & bed, new bedding that fits the bed properly and better hot water in the bathroom."
    Angela
"Yes very happy with the accommodation. Sorry it was only for a short while. Would stay there again hopefully for longer."

"Lovely place to stay. Needed a little tlc to make it perfect. Really helpful owners. There when you needed them but not intrusive. Absolutely loved the log burner"
    Jennifer
"Lovely place, the location to the owners property and the busy main road isn't ideal however it is very reasonably priced and once you're in with the curtains closed and the log fire burning it's lovely and cosy and bigger than we expected. The local town Romsey is lovely. We wouldn't hesitate to return for a cosy winter retreat."

"After reading some of the reviews for this property we thought it was going to be very basic so were pleasantly surprised to find a DVD player and fridge. The cottage was very comfortable, warm and clean. Excellent location for visiting the New Forest and we would visit again."

"We had a great time staying there and would recommend it."
    Caroline
"My husband and I and our dog spent a lovely long weekend in the Roost. The cottage was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The owner did not intrude and we barely noticed that we were next door. My only gripe would be that the kitchen tap sprayed water everywhere which was irritating. A different nozzle is needed. The cottage was lovely and warm and it was a good location from which to explore the new forest. We would return."
    Susie
"Very cosy little cottage with everything needed for an enjoyable stay. Particularly enjoyed the log burner. Good location to visit The New Forest, Salisbury and Winchester for the Christmas markets."
    Viki
"Great cottage, lovely location with short walks around the lakes. A few fixtures need looking at as they were loose especially in the bathroom. And its a shame there isn't an intergrated oven and hob but not a big deal. Overall we'd stay again. Owners very helpful and nice."
    Tony
"Very comfortable accommodation. Friendly, welcoming hosts, and lovely, convenient location - within easy reach of New Forest highlights and coast."
    Leigh-Anne
"We really enjoyed our week at The Roost. Idyllic surroundings & accessibility to the lakes. The horses were a delight to see each day. As were Hobson, Harvey & Picasso. Owners friendly. The location was perfectly situated to lots of areas of interest & main routes. 3 lovely pubs for lunch & dinner within a 5min drive. Worth every penny."
    Stephen
"Had a good time in the new forest, but as we were in our 60s we found sofa very uncomfortable , shower, we reported that it was in poor condition as the door fell of and was very small ,no one repaired it or came back to see us. Cooking facilities poor . But very nice area and nice views. Best suited to younger persons. Or fishermen, we were told it's very good. It was very clean and warm but not like home!"
    Sean
"No complaints at all. Nice relaxing weekend with our dog!"
    Sarah
"Brilliant place to stay, owners very friendly but not intrusive.Property lakes are lovely along with the surrondings of the studio."
    Rachael
"Everything we needed. Comfort, peace, relaxing"
    Lynne
"If there was to be a down side it would be the busy A36 but overall we had a lovely time my husband spent a lot of time fishing and the Roost was central for visiting lots of places. The owners made us very welcome."
    Nigel
"Great location and lodge. Grounds were great for bird watching and relaxing. Property was as described and had everything needed for two people. Décor and furniture tasteful."
    Susan
"Beautiful area, lovely surroundings. Our only problem was just purely us in as much as we found the bed to be not very comfortable and also the sofa in the lounge, other than that we would highly recommend this cottage and we are in fact going back again this year. If we were younger people the chair and bed would not be a problem at all :("
    Colin
"Lovely place. good facilities, great holiday"
    Brenda
"We had a lovely 4 day break. Central location made it easy to get out and about. Owners made us feel welcome. The carp lakes were a bonus and we caught several fish."
    Gerry
"A very pleasant stay.We were able to see our families who lived locally. Just one major criticism. The track running out to the main road was in appalling condition There were deep potholes which could damage a car suspension and lead to possible insurance claims. Remedial action is urgently required."

"It was a lovely cottage have been before, downside was the bed could do with being more comfortable , apart from that all was good, lots to do as well, nice walks around site, will go again when we need to be in that area, if bed is chaneed."
    Sarah
"absolutely amazing. Really lovely accommodation, beautiful location, lovely hosts. Couldn't ask for more."

    "A perfect bolthole."
    Robert
"Very nice over all, our only problem was with the very busy main road. We would have preferred to walk into Ower but were unable to do so as it was too dangerous on this road so we had to use the car constantly."
    Joanne
"Second visit - will definitely be back again."
    Simon
"Lovely cottage. Located on busy Road but not an issue for sleeping. Nice grounds and views. Basic but adequate cooking facilities for 2. Could do with a little more light. Overall very comfortable. "
    Richard
"Wonderful cabin in the new forest. We stayed for 4 nights and it has everything you could possibly need including a lovely log burner. Really well laid out, Bed is comfortable and the rooms are a good size. Only criticism is It's close to the A36 but once you're inside the road noise isn't really noticeable and on the flip side it makes getting out to see things by road really easy. Great value for money and We would definitely stay here again. "
