    Battle Holiday Cottages

The civil parish of Battle is about 30 miles east of Brighton and sits in the High Weald AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). The community population is less than 7,000 and is primarily made up of commuters into London, but the history of the town attracts visitors year-round.

The town's namesake - the famous Battle of Hastings - is still a large part of local life with battle reenactments and celebratory bonfires held often. An annual arts festival takes place in the town with live performances, theatre, and music throughout, and there’s plenty of cafes, bars, and restaurants. Of course, as the name would suggest, Battle maintains close links with Hastings, and there are regular trains and buses to the town should you fancy a day trip away. Holiday cottages in Battle make a great base from which to explore the rest of East Sussex.

Snaptrip’s Battle holiday cottages are all covered by our best price guarantee, ensuring you won’t find the same property cheaper elsewhere. With thousands of holiday homes on the site, you have plenty of options to choose from and the Snaptrip customer service team are always on-hand to provide help or advice.

Perfekte Unterkunft für Familien - Perfect accommodation for familiesWe spent two wonderful weeks in this beautiful house. Even though we got to eight (with four small children in our luggage), we were never too tight in the Cricket Cottage. The house is perfectly equipped, with everything you would want for a relaxing stay. Sophie and Ian were always reachable and took care of small problems immediately (Internet, not their fault). One notices the tasteful and high-quality furnishing to the fact that the landlords have lived here for a long time. The not very small, enclosed garden was a favourite playground for our children. Robertsbridge is an ideal base from which to explore the 1066-country, with its train station, London is also within easy reach. A small but well-stocked Spar market is within two minutes walk, a very good Indian with take-away, which also offers good Fish'n'Chips, is also nearby. Not far away also nice pubs and a great children's playground. From the park situation in front of the house no one should be deterred, it is just a narrow alley. We have however with our fully loaded family carriages always found a parking lot a few meters further and think that the short footpath absolutely worthwhile. Conclusion: Especially for families absolutely recommendable!

Beautifully furnished Cottage in stunning village location: RobertsbridgeIf you're looking for a warm, comfortable and beautifully furnished home from home, this 7 bed cottage is a real delight. We were attracted to this cottage by its village location, its location in relation to the Sussex coast and the fantastic log fire in the main reception room. We weren't disappointed. The kitchen was very well equipped. The owners had put a lovely hamper of local produce together to make our first cuppa and breakfast the next day rather delicious. The beds were a dream to sleep in too. The property has a reasonably sized garden although we didn't spend much time outside. The village has a convenience store at the end of the lane. Its close to Bodiam, Mad Jack Fullers follies, the Jerwood Gallery and Old town at Hastings. We even enjoyed a day out in Brighton's North Lanes. If you're one for pubs, there's two in Robertsbridge both selling Harveys. And if you like a browse around some classier than average Charity Shops, there plenty to satisfy in Battle and Heathfield. A great week in a great place. We'll be back soon.

The property is a really lovely well equipped cottage with everything needed and very comfortable apart from the bed.

We found it small and would suggest it needs to be changed to a kingsize bed. The pub next door was really lovely, We were given a very warm welcome and we enjoyed all our meals except on the first night my husbands steak & Kideny pudding was served ice cold. This was soon put right. Curry night on Monday was a really good deal and great curry. The staff were all, without exception, very friendly and helpful. On the first night my husband reported the TV in the bedroom wasn't working because the aerial was missing plus the cooker hood was filthy. Neither of these was corrected. The shower attachment on the wall is loose and needs attention. I notice from other feedback the garden needs attention. We agree it is full of weeds and no flowers. My final comment would be that this lovely cottage is by a busy main road during the week and traffic noise woke us both around 6am. We read all the previous comments before we booked and this was not mentioned. Had it been mentioned I am afraid we would not have booked it,

Really enjoyed our stay at White Hart Stables.

Really well equipped, everything you could want for your stay. Shop with post office facilities and bus stop 30m away. Dog friendly. Two big tvs, one in lounge one in bedroom with sky. Good rainfall shower, big fridge freezer, fully enclosed (by new fencing) back garden with furniture however, could do with tidying up to bring it in line with the rest of the property. Bed very soft with dips really could do with a new mattress. The pub next door own the cottage and I must say it's a great little local pub, really well looked after and the staff are all fantastic, a really slick team, the food is great with decent portions and prices. We ate there three times and enjoyed it every time. They have a lovely sunny little garden out the front too. Really great location for exploring Sussex and surrounding areas. On the 1066 walking route.

Lovely house in a great locationWe wanted a holiday cottage near Battle so that my 82 year-old mother could re-visit her old school and childhood haunts, and this lovely house in Robertsbridge was the perfect base for three generations of our family for a week. The house is extremely well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and beautifully clean and welcoming. At least four National Trust properties are within easy reach, as is Hastings and we really enjoyed the Jerwood Gallery, Sissinghurst, Batemans and Bodiam Castle. Robertsbridge is a very nice village with everything in walking distance including a shop at the end of the lane which never seemed to shut, also a good pub and bakery. We all loved our week here and the house is one of the nicest holiday properties I've stayed in.
