About this property

The town of Battle is 1.9 miles. In Catsfield, on the outskirts of Battle in East Sussex is Albie’s End. This fabulous annexe welcomes two guests for a romantic getaway in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the property benefits from off-road parking and stunning views across the countryside. Cross the threshold into your home-from-home and head into the warm and welcoming sitting room where you can snuggle up on the plush reclining sofa in front of the Smart TV and flame effect fire. Allow your partner to make themselves at home in the fully-equipped kitchen and enjoy the romantic meal they have prepared at the intimate dining table; if the sun is shining head outside to indulge in an alfresco affair on the front patio. Soak up the last of the sun with a glass of wine in hand and watch as the sun sets over the rolling countryside at the rear patio before getting some well-earned rest. Climb the quirky paddle stairs where a king-size bedroom with en-suite sleek bathroom awaits. Albie’s End lies in the village of Catsfield where you can stock up on necessities at the local store or treat your loved one to a special meal at The White Hart which serve delicious pub fare and a variety of drinks. Take the short, scenic drive to Battle to immerse yourself in local history by touring the famous English Heritage site of Battle Abbey which hosts an interactive exhibit and film about 1066, or meander through Battle Walled Garden and Battle Great Woods. You are within a stone’s throw of the 1066 country trail which goes West towards Pevensey or East towards Battle, Winchelsea and Rye. This local walk links with other trails to explore the beautiful local countryside. The coast is within reach at Hastings or Bexhill, spend a sunny day on Hastings Beach where you can splash in the sea or stroll the pier to reach the Pier Beer Garden offering spectacular views across the sea. The town also houses the ruins of the once imposing Norman fortress, now ruins with dungeons and an audio-visual show, and the Smugglers Adventures made from a series of underground tunnels that retrace the steps of historic smugglers. Make unforgettable memories at Albie’s End.

A thriving East Sussex village, Ninfield can be found about four miles north of Bexhill-on-Sea and about the same distance from the ancient town of Battle. It is believed that after the Battle of Hastings, William the Conqueror planted his standard on Standard Hill, located to the west. Although smuggling was common in Ninfield during the eighteenth century, the village has since regained its reputation as a peaceful Sussex community with classic pubs, a picturesque village green, and wonderful hiking trails with panoramic vistas of the surrounding countryside and the sea. Ninfield's location between Bexhill and Battle makes it an attractive destination. Bexhill-on-Sea, a classic seaside town and sophisticated resort, is home to numerous eateries and watering holes. It is also the site of the De La Warr Pavilion, which regularly hosts exhibitions, and the origin of British motor racing. The beach is dotted with homely beach huts that can be rented for the day, and the calm water is perfect for a variety of watersports. Members of the local Rowing Club are frequently spotted on the waves, and the Bexhill Sailing Club hosts a full schedule of racing events from March to November. Battle Abbey towers over the town's central square, and the surrounding streets are lined with similarly historic structures. Travel back in time at Yesterday's World, a living social museum, and then enjoy a traditional Sussex cream tea at one of the many nearby tea rooms. Holiday makers can enjoy themselves in both well-known and lesser-known spots in this region of Sussex.
