About this property

Resting on the outskirts of the town of Battle, famous for it's involvement with the battle between William the Conqueror and King Harold in 1066, is this detached lodge, Loose Farm Lodge. Set out over a single-storey and sleeping up to four guests, Loose Farm Lodge is a family-friendly and admirable setting for your next adventure to East Sussex, located in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and within easy reach of the south coast. You enter the property into a large open-plan living space, where you can enjoy an evening with some popcorn by the TV, or rustle up your favourite meal in the kitchen area and gather your loved ones around the dining table, whilst there is also a handy dishwasher and washing machine. Moving through the property, there is a shower room allowing you to freshen up for the day ahead, a double room where you can escape to as the evening draws to a close and finally, a twin room with ample storage space so you can unpack any personal belongings. Outside there is lots of land surrounding the property, as well as a private decking area with furniture with a barbecue and fire pit to enjoy whilst embracing an evening under the stars, and parking for two cars. Wake up to the sounds of the goats and lambs in the fields near your garden area, a heart-warming touch to this already idyllic setting. With its narrow alleys, Battle prides itself on remaining a historic landmark, although it is now a bustling and busy place that welcomes thousands of visitors from all over the world each year, who can indulge in the delights that tea rooms such as Mrs Burton's have to offer with high tea being served on tall cake stands in a quintessential English parlour dating back to the 16th century, or browse around charming shops selling local produce and hand-made goods, local butchers and organic vegetable stores where the cheeses and wines are made only a few miles away. On the green events and exhibitions take place throughout the year from medieval fayres and scarecrow competitions, but still standing proud is the majestic Battle Abbey, with part of it's buildings now laying in ruins, it still attracts visitors who explore its battlegrounds and Abbey ruins. Just a short drive away is the more vibrant sister, the seaside town of Hastings, also famous for it's involvement with the Battle of Hastings which in 1066 changed the course of history forever, and now offers visitors the chance to enjoy a day by the sea, swimming, sailing, fishing or wind-surfing, or why not enjoy one of the numerous restaurants in the old town with its view over Hastings Castle on the hill, or enjoy a show or at one of the theatres. The property lies within the High Weald AONB and has attractive landscapes with a myriad of small farms, woodlands, historic parks, sunken lanes and ridge-top villages. Also within driving distance is the seaside resort of Eastbourne, with it's gorgeous beach, selection of restaurants, bars, shops and museums. For a quaint and fun-filled trip to East Sussex, choose Loose Farm Lodge.

The lodge was also very well equipped. Rosie and Jason were lovely hosts always on hand if we needed anything. Seeing the goats everyday was an added bonus. Will definitely visit again ☺️.

It didn’t disappoint one bit! Rosie is a fantastic host and we felt at home. You have to try at least one of Rosie’s scrumptious goat meat products too!

Good location and very clean. Would stay again but my dog cannot walk that far.
