A charming little cottage steeped in history yet restored to a superb standard.
After a hard day exploring the attractions in the Peak District, Grocers Cottage is a fantastic place to relax in and unwind. With its snuggly lounge, well fitted dining kitchen, pleasant bedroom and small wet room shower this charming 18th-century cottage has been really carefully restored with lots of attention to detail. Located in the picturesque and sleepy village of Longnor, the cottage is close to the cobbled square with its local stores, great café, super bistro, traditional pub and even a 'frying tonight' fish and chip shop.
The amazing Peak District scenery is a paradise for walkers; marvel at the incredible views down Dovedale or explore the lovely upper reaches of the Manifold Valley. Further afield, you might like to visit beautiful Chatsworth House and gardens, historic Haddon Hall, Bakewell’s famous Monday market or Buxton’s Victorian Crescent and Opera House. The Derwent Valley Dams, the Plague village of Eyam and Castleton’s Blue John caverns are also nearby.

Grocers cottage was lovely. Well equipped and very cosy and comfortable. Jane was a great hostess and provided milk and a fruit & veggie bowl which was lovely! This was our first visit to the Peaks and Longnor is very pretty a great central base for pursuing all interests. It has a good fish n chip shop and general store. Cobbles coffee shop do fab breakfasts. We will definitely be back!
