About this property

For a picturesque break for two, this splendid 18th century former chapel has been exquisitely converted into a cosy holiday haven infused with charm and character.

A loved part of the local heritage, you'll find the chapel is perfectly situated for you to enjoy plenty of fresh, scenic views over tranquil open countryside. Located at the edge of the Peak District and within easy reach of all its major attractions, this sympathetically converted chapel overlooks the beautiful Rivelin Valley. Local shops and pubs are within walking distance and the Peak District highlights are accessible including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and there is plenty of walking country on the doorstep. For walking, the Rivelin Valley Heritage Nature Trail really has it all with woodlands, playgrounds, paddling pools and a cafe just half a mile away. Mam Tor, Kinder Scout and Ladybower reservoir (trout fishing available in season) are all within a 7 mile drive. Take in your rural surroundings before stepping into a real slice of history. Discover gracefully arched windows, warm colours and comfortable furnishings as you wander through the charmingly decorated space. You'll find a handy utility room with a washing machine as you pass through the corridor before entering the spacious open plan lounge/kitchen/diner, the lounge area houses a warming wood burner ideal for snuggling up on the sofa in front of the Smart TV, whether that's with a good book or your favourite person. Cook up a storm in the kitchen, which is equipped with a gas range style oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment and a handy dishwasher. The ground floor bathroom features a clawfoot bath that's just waiting to be filled right up with relaxing bubbles with a rainfall shower overhead if you prefer to wake yourself up with an energising burst of water, and a WC. The mezzanine floor invites you to a cosy king size bedroom, the ideal setting for long, lazy morning lie ins. This is definitely not the kind of holiday you'll want to rush through, so it's perfectly understandable if you decide to linger in your characterful surroundings for a while. You can dine outside on a warm balmy evening and even make use of the owners' pizza oven which is available to hire. Off road parking for one car is provided.
