About this property

Butter Churn is a lovely 16th century stone farm house, together with an attached barn that has been converted to create a superb cottage, set in a secret little valley just down from the centre of picturesque Kniveton. Revel in their space, quality and character with attractive decoration and drapes, sumptuous furniture and fittings, crisp bed linen and even a glowing log burning stove.

Set in a quiet lane you could be in the middle of nowhere but a stroll along the lane will get you to the Red Lion pub and a wander across the fields will take you to the Ketch, renowned for its good food. Super countryside walks are all around and all Derbyshire's attractions are close by.

The local town of Ashbourne is a must with its lovely market square, country stores, antique shops and restaurants. Nearby Wirksworth with its little shops and heritage trail is one of our favourites. And then of course there is Bakewell, Chatsworth, Peveril Castle, the National Tramway Museum, Peak Rail's steam trains and even Alton Towers.

Facilities in the house and cottage include:

In the main house there is a superb lounge with luxurious sofas, T.V., DVD, SKY, WiFi, and glowing log burning stove. An attractive dining room. A kitchen with hob, oven, microwave, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and automatic washer. A lovely double bedroom with king-size bed. A second double bedroom and a twin bedroom. A downstairs bathroom with bath/shower over and W.C. An upstairs cloakroom with W.C.  Through an adjoining door the cottage has a second lovely lounge with comfortable furniture, T.V, Freeview, Netflix, DVD and WiFi. A dining kitchen with breakfast island, hob, oven, microwave, fridge, and dishwasher. A downstairs double bedroom with king-size bed. An adjoining shower room with W.C.

Linen and towels are provided. Central heating, power and an initial supply of fuel for the stove are included. A cot and high chair can be requested. There are two patios with furniture and access to the adjoining paddock. Parking for four cars is available. A small pet is allowed on the ground floor of the house. Smoking in the house and cottage is not permitted. Access for people with disabilities may be possible. Please ask for details.
