Excellent cottage, beautiful situation in a lovely, quiet friendly village. Wonderful views on our walks. Very clean and fresh. Close to Bakewell with plenty of shops and restaurants. All amenities available but a guide to use the tv and oven and information to find the light switches, which were under beams in upstairs rooms would have been helpful ! Found accidentally after bending to pick something up!! I would definitely recommend and would love to go there again. Bonus was Well Dressing week, we were able to see it being made and take part in the Blessing service. Completely new to me and wonderful to see.

Lovely area with plenty of walks and attractions. Nice cottage with comfortable beds and sofas and well equipped kitchen. The double bedroom and en-suite were fine but as we were a party of four adults and one child we found the twin room not really suitable for adults, the towels were too small and the bedding wasn’t great. The shower room could definitely do with a refurbishment. The car parking space, once we found it, was very tight, made worse by a van and trailer full of old washing machines in the space next to it. We were told there was room for a second car to park on the road outside the property but there was never any space there, however there is a public car park a few minutes walk away. By far the worst thing was the overwhelming smell of dog that hit you when you opened the front door, the towels also had this smell.

Lovely cottage in a great location for walking or visiting attractions in the area. Some stunning scenery. Cottage is comfortable and if we are overly critical, some rooms could do with a freshen up (paint / decoration). Some improved lighting above the kitchen prep area would be useful too. That said we definitely stay here again.
