South Lodge was the perfect base for a working week near Berwick. The cottage was homely, and roomy for 1/2 people, and it was lovely to come back in the evening and stroll through the grounds of Paxton House. The only reason for not giving 5 stars was that there were a few glitches: extractor fan not working above cooker, and the shower on/off switch was not broken, so you had to use the pull cord by the bathroom door to start/stop the shower; there was only a very small pull up table to eat in the kitchen - fine for one, but not ideal for two people.
