With stunning views over the south lawns, it’s ideal for couples, accommodating two guests comfortably, with the option of a sofa bed for extra space.

Upon entering, you’ll find an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area that exudes character. High ceilings and elegant finishes create an inviting atmosphere, while large windows flood the space with natural light.

During your stay, take advantage of a discounted house tour of historic Paxton House (only available April - October) and immerse yourself in its rich history, featuring exquisite Chippendale furniture, Georgian costumes, and stunning paintings from Scotland’s National Collection. In 1988, the Home Robertson family gifted the estate to the nation and founded a charity to ensure that everyone can appreciate the beauty and tranquillity of the house, it’s wonderful collections and expansive grounds and gardens. After your tour, treat yourself to homemade cakes and refreshments at the on-site Stables Tearoom (please check website for opening hours).

    We read the description and other reviews but don't feel they reflected the place. The flat is in the basement of Paxton house. When we arrived there was no heating, no hot water and the fridge was off. The 'welcome pack' consisted of some bottles of water, some biscuits and a handful of mini-milk cartons like you get on a train. It was too late to go back to Berwick to do a shop. We did find the switches for the fridge and the hot water, but its not what you want after a long day travelling. The bedding and towels were not pleasant and the mattress is tired. The furnishings were rather cheap. Considering the venue is a house full of Chippendales and there is a cafe next door to the flat we were disappointed. Some effort to improve the decor, the furnishings and the bathroom would yield a good return. We did try to speak to staff but they didn't seem interested or even aware that there was a flat, so gave up in frustration. We didn't want to waste our holiday finding the right person to complain to, so we got on with it. It's a shame because it could be lovely and is in a real beauty spot. We can recommend the local pub in Paxton where they were welcoming and did excellent food.

    Our second visit to the Garden Apartment. Love Paxton House and estate for lovely walks and proximity to Chain Bridge. Only negative would be that we feel the mattress needs replacing and would make such a difference if better quality bedding/pillows were purchased. The cooker/oven also could benefit from being replaced as all the markings have worn off making it a guessing game when trying to use. Overall a lovely apartment with lots of space for a relaxing stay.

    The apartment was comfortable but a bit shabby. The best feature was being at Paxton house and being able to enjoy walking in the grounds.
