Boasting far-reaching views to the Cheviot Hills and lovely walking from the doorstep, this cosy and comfortable cottage (shown right of photograph) is set just 5 miles from sandy beaches at the village of Eyemouth, where visitors can feed wild grey seals. Enjoying its own garden, the cottage sits on the owners’ 200 acre arable farm, an idyllic spot threaded with many footpaths. Boat trips are easily available and the nearby coastline is famed for crystal clear waters, shipwrecks and diverse marine life – a paradise for divers. Picturesque St Abbs, with its harbour and nature reserve, the golden sands of Coldingham Bay and historic Berwick-upon-Tweed are under 10 miles. Please be aware that the Wi-Fi can be intermittent due to the rural location. The beautiful city of Edinburgh is an hour’s drive or take the train from Berwick train station, which is less than a 10-minute drive, giving guests easy access to central Edinburgh. Visit the village of Ayton’s imposing castle, 3 miles. Shop and pub 3 miles.

28.05.13 - Please note there will be renovation work for 6-8 weeks at the cottage next door. There will be scaffolding outside, but the cottage cannot be seen. The work is from 8am unrtil 4.30/5pm and the owner has asked that any noisey work done is after 9am. For any inconvenience caused, the owner is leaving some wine.
The property is located on a working farm.

On arrival at the cottage the following was noted: 1. No toilet roll in the loo. Cobwebs in the bathroom. 2. Stains on the carpet in the lounge and a big dirty water mark on the section of the carpet leading to the kitchen. 3. Washing machine handle broken, so not available to use. 4. Curtain in the lounge needs attention, hook needs replacing. 5. Door to corridor leading to the bathroom needs repair. 6. Complained about heating, husband attended, only worked for an hour and stopped. Please note that all these complaints were highlighted to the owner, the response was "no one has complained before". Very defensive tone. We decided to leave a day before due to the very sub-standard conditions. We got another cottage which proved to be heaven on earth. One positive thing to add is that her in-laws next door were very helpful but that did not change the situation.

No upstairs toilet is a problem at night time, and the washing machine is broken and the plug in the bathroom sink won't hold water also the large frying pan is not safe when its on top of the cooker, they definitely need new cooking items . On the plus side cottage was very quiet and comfortable very clean and the hosts were lovely the views are beautiful
