The Stannington Pullman originated as a high-speed train, Mark 3 first class railway coach for East Midlands Railway. Positioned near the East Coast Mainline between Newcastle and Morpeth, it offers a prime train-watching location, some noise from passing trains might be experienced due to its proximity to the railway line. Originally known as Coach 41207, it served intercity routes to London and locally around the East Midlands. Its final journey under East Midlands Railways (EMR) was in December 2020, yet it still proudly displays the company’s colours

Overlooking a lovely lawned garden, a viewing terrace offers glimpses of passing trains. Inside, opulent luxury awaits. The living area boasts a plush velvet sofa and a high-back chair alongside modern amenities such as Smart TV and Wi-Fi. Dining occurs in an authentic leather EMR booth, adjacent to a well-equipped shaker-style kitchen. The sleeper cabins host a double bed in one and custom bunk beds in the other, including a smaller 2ft 6" bed beneath and a child-friendly upper bunk. A stylish shower room and separate toilet provide convenience.

I booked this as a surprise for my partner and kids for New Year. It did not disappoint! I messed up my booking dates and the host was so kind about it.The kids thought it was so much fun and keep asking to go back. We enjoyed exploring Northumberland with so much to see.The accommodation is so unique and well thought out. If we go back in winter, then I will remember to pack my slippers to keep my feet warm.Highly recommend for something a bit different and fun.

We had a great stay the accommodation was clean and has been converted to a high standard it was nice to see the original features that had been kept which added to the experience.Fantastic place for watching the trains passing regularly on the east coast mainline.There is a farm shop and cafe a short walk away and definitely worth a visit.Supermarket, shops and pubs are a drive away in Morpeth.My only complaint would be the comfort of the beds as the mattress was quite hard.Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

I booked this for my partners Christmas last year as he loves trains. It will brilliant seeing the trains go past. The accommodations itself had loads of the original features which added to the experience. Even the small details of giving us some local jam, fudge and biscuits. We will definitely be back.
