From the moment you enter the property it appears spacious, welcoming and comfortable. Lounge and kitchen diner are easily big enough for a party of four. The lounge seating is extreemly comfortable. The whole property is very well equipped, partlicularly the kitchen,Amble has many good pubs, takeaways and restaurants and everyone we met was friendly and welcoming. It retains a rare, traditional local charm. All of Northumberland's great attractions are an easy drive away.Having used Cottages many times this is easily one of the best properties we have stayed at.

Having visited the area a number of times over the last fifteen years with my late wife, & laterly on my own, I can honestly say that Kittiwakes is the best cottage I have stayed at in Noerthumberland & is in the top five that I/ we have stayed in over the last 35 years.Clean, comfortable, well equipped, it was a perfect base to return to at the end of the day. Especially when the weather was generally grey & damp.Amble is well placed for visiting the fantastic Northumberland coastline both North towards Bamburgh & Holy Island as well as South down to Whitley Bay & St Mary's Lighthouse. As a keen photographer, the five minute walk to the harbour meant it was perfect for catching the sudden changes in sea/ weather conditions as well as the sunrise without having to travel far.Nothing is ever "perfect" but four stars would be too few so given ait 5 stars. Maybe 4.8/ 4.9.Would definitely recommend.
