Guests say

Lindisfarne View is a peaceful and well-located cottage, ideal for exploring the Northumberland coast and nearby attractions. Guests consistently praise the stunning views, comfortable beds, and tranquil setting, with many enjoying the telescope and birdwatching opportunities. The cottage is generally clean and cosy, making it a relaxing base for families and dog owners. Some minor maintenance issues and kitchen equipment shortages are noted, but these do not detract from the overall positive experience. The property is especially suited to those seeking a quiet retreat close to nature and local sights.

Most guests found the cottage clean and tidy, with particular praise for the cleanliness of the living areas and linens. However, a few reviews mention areas needing more attention, such as the kitchen and bathrooms, and occasional maintenance issues. Overall, cleanliness is above average but with some room for improvement.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, beautiful views over Budle Bay, and proximity to Bamburgh, Seahouses, and local attractions. Guests appreciate the peaceful setting and easy access to walking, birdwatching, and sightseeing. The lack of immediate amenities is noted but generally seen as a positive for those seeking a quiet escape.

Guests frequently comment on the comfortable beds, spacious living area, and cosy atmosphere. The 'upside down' layout with living quarters upstairs is popular, and the cottage stays cool in summer. Some minor issues with mattresses and bathroom fittings are mentioned, but overall comfort is rated highly.

The cottage is generally well-equipped, with good kitchen basics, parking, and tech amenities. However, several guests mention missing or inadequate kitchen items, unclear instructions for appliances, and minor maintenance issues such as loose fittings and tired decor. Facilities are functional but could benefit from some updates and clearer guidance.

Some guests mention a welcome pack and quick responses from the owner, which are appreciated, but these are not consistently referenced and cannot be guaranteed. The provision of essentials like dishwasher tablets and kitchen roll is noted, but overall, thoughtful touches are present but not universal.

Waren Mill is a beautiful seaside village occupying stunning views across Lindisfarne and Holy Island. For a wider choice of places to eat, take a short 3-mile drive into Bamburgh and Seahouses, or if the tide times are kind, on to Holy Island. 2-minutes from Waren mill is the tranquil seaside escape Budle Bay, a beautiful bird sanctuary with huge mud flats that are exposed at low tide. The whole area is part of the Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve and is very popular with birdwatchers, particularly in the winter when thousands of wildfowl and waders spend their winter on the bay’s mud flats.

Various water sports are also popular in Budle Bay in the summer months. The bay provides shallow conditions that are particularly good for kite surfing at any level. Nearby Bamburgh has its own 18-hole golf course at the north end of the village. The course offers stunning views across the beaches, countryside and of Bamburgh Castle, and the village itself is often quoted as the most scenic course in Britain. The course has a clubhouse that welcomes visitors at all times of the year and also serves food for those who choose to play here.

Bamburgh is one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, open to the public on a daily basis. Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants, a butcher and a couple of village shops for essential groceries.

Such a cosy place to stop in for a holiday and also very peaceful. Well equipped and very comfortable beds. The view was only from the lounge side window but that didn't matter. The owner was extremely helpful when we experienced a power cut. Plenty of hot water and the parking was really close to the property. Really lovely to return to after a days' walking and exploring.

Where do I start! The house needs a complete renovation or serious clean up. The taps in the kitchen did not always work. Same in the en-suite. The toilet seat in the en-suite was wonky. The kitchen needs a good clean e.g. cupboards, cooker etc. The cutlery was plastic. Torn curtains and cracked window in one bedroom. No instructions for TV or heating. No welcome pack. I’ve stayed in cheaper accommodation that was better. We left a day early which tells you everything.

Comfy and suitable for all of us during the week. Situated in a really quiet village. No shops or anything available so you would definitely need to be prepared if you don’t drive. But this is exactly why we booked this spot knowing it would be relaxing and restful. Bedrooms were clean and tidy, plenty of storage for clothes etc. Some small maintenance issues which just made it not look as cared for as it could be. The upside down element was fantastic. Really roomy upstairs, plenty of places to sit, and play games. Kitchen was stocked okay for a holiday let. We managed to make a few meals from scratch. Great to have access to a full size fridge and freezer to be able to stock up and keep the kids happy for the week.
