A village pub is only a few minutes’ walk from your cottage and there is an award-winning ice cream dairy only a mile away along a winding country lane.
Your stone-built, semi-detached holiday home is set on a small development overlooking fields to the rear with fabulous attention to details throughout. The large open-plan living space has been carefully designed to offer comfort, whilst offering that feeling of being somewhere special, being bright and airy with comfortable seating and stylish furnishings. The modern kitchen is furnished with a small breakfast table, and all the facilities to cook and enjoy some special evenings in. With four bedrooms, two with Hypnos mattresses and one en-suite, and a large modern family bathroom with an anti-scald bath tap, this modern holiday home is perfect for couples and families, and welcomes one pet. The garden has a patio area which is south facing, catching the sun and overlooking the fields and countryside to the rear.
Nearby Warkworth is home to a castle that sits at the top of the hill, dominating the village with a lovely riverside walk and quaint bespoke shops and cafés. Amble is a popular small seaside town with a working harbour, harbour pod shopping area and plenty of cafés and restaurants.
Acklington village is an ideal location to explore all the surrounding areas. Northumberland is such a diverse county with miles of golden sandy beaches nearby and the most stunning National Park, famed for its dark skies. Head up further north and discover Holy Island, where the Lindisfarne Gospels were kept, and Bamburgh with the cliff top castle. Wherever you go from Ad Gefrin, you will be sure of a warm and genuine welcome from the local Northumbrian people.

Very clean, comfortable and well equipped modern property, with a few thoughtful additions from the owners for family entertainment. Ideally located to tour Northumberland from Newcastle up to the Scottish border, coast and countryside.

This is the second time we have stayed here and again it did not disappoint. Lovely clean, spacious and quiet. Ideal location for sight seeing and visiting the beautiful beaches. Very well equipped and the games and play station were an added bonus for my 3 boys. Excellent holiday would highly recommend.

Lovely house, in a quiet locatiion. With a lovely garden and everything you would need, including plenty of hangers in the wardrobes. It was clean and bright, with a comfy living room to relax in, after you have spent the day exploring. The house also has a well equiped kitchen, including scales and plenty of baking trays. The bedrooms are nicely appointed and the main bathroom has both a bath and separate shower, with the en suite having a large walk in shower. It is perfectly situated for exploring, with a dairy that makes ice-cream a mile away, (delicious) as well as a tap room with local beer a mile in the other direction. (Open Friday and Saturday). Great place and we had a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits on arrival. 😊
