About this property

A beautiful stone-built cottage resting close to the sandy beach and town centre of Bamburgh, Jara is the ideal Northumberland base for a family or group of adults. Park off-road and unpack with ease into a light and spacious property. Be welcomed into a sitting room where a selection of stylish sofas rest between large windows, wooden flooring and a traditional fireplace housing a woodburning stove, filling this space with natural light. The kitchen houses ample amenities and its stylish layout allows for all guests to cook together, and you can enjoy a heart-warming meal at the dining table situated in the conservatory, and here you will find a tasteful snug, ideal for catching up on a good book. The garden can be reached through the conservatory, and you will find a large lawn and patio offering seating so you can enjoy breakfast in the sunshine. Three bedrooms nestle within the property, including two doubles with homely décor and one twin, accompanied by a shower room. Bamburgh is a fantastic seaside town, and the property is only a short walk from a range of shops, eateries and the Grace Darling Museum, so why not explore the town centre before enjoying a walk across the beautiful local sandy beach, or a visit to the magnificent Bamburgh Castle? Further from the property you can explore the coast with Serenity Farne Island Boat Tours from Seahouses or you can discover the history and heritage of Holy Island with its many historic sites including Lindisfarne Priory, Lindisfarne Castle and the old lighthouse. Make a seaside getaway to remember with a stay at Jara.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
