About this property

Bamburgh 1.7 miles. A quaint single-storey cottage with a backdrop of unspoilt countryside, Coral Cottage is the ideal coastal getaway for a family, located in the scenic hamlet of Budle Bay, near Bamburgh, Northumberland. Park off-road and be welcomed into this beautiful stone-built property, where a sitting room entices you to curl up with a good book beside the woodboring stove, settled into a magnificent fireplace. This room has tall ceilings laced with roofbeams and fairy lights, wooden flooring and tasteful furniture with blue décor and is simply a stunning place for guests to relax. The cathedral ceilings and roof beams continue into the kitchen/diner, where tiled flooring and glass doors add a charming feel, and there is an eye-catching blue feature wall resting behind an amply fitted kitchen, where you will also find a dining area and access to the garden, overlooking stunning farmland and mature trees. Along with a family bathroom, two bedrooms nestle within this historic property, including a double with quirky purple walls and decor and a single with storage, making this property ideal for a family of three. Budle Bay is a picturesque location with wonderful countryside walks and a beautiful beach for you to enjoy, with stretches of sand and stunning coastal views, it is ideal for watersports, wild swimming and walking. Further from the property you will find the fantastic town of Bamburgh, and here you can enjoy one of the tasty local eateries, stock up on essentials and visit the magnificent castle and sandy beach. Budle Bay is also within easy reach of the fantastic Holy Island where you will be able to visit Lindisfarne Priory, another amazing castle, a selection of museums and more. Fall in love with the amazing scenery of Northumberland with a stay at Coral Cottage.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.

Had a lovely pre Christmas stay in coral cottage Very close to walks in both Budle Bay and Bamburgh Loved the real log burner

It appeared extremely clean, however more attention needs to be paid to under setees, beds and wardrobes, extremely well equipped and lovely safe garden for small dog. Would love to come back during a summer. Highly recommend.

Would have been good to have logs and kindling when booking in winter. Lovely and warm though when we arrived. Clearer instructions or already connected to Netflix would be handy Overall a really lovely cottage
