About this property

Nestled amongst the popular Armstrong Cottages estate originally built by Lord Armstrong for the workers restoring the magnificent Bamburgh Castle, Armstrong Cottage No30 is an idyllic getaway for those who wish to explore the coast and heritage of Northumberland. Be welcomed into a beautiful open-plan living area, where tall ceilings and glass doors allow in seas of light, making this a fantastic social hub and guests can relax on the selection of sofas beside an open fire, or make the most of the kitchen and dining area, cooking up a heart-warming meal from local produce using the contemporary amenities and enjoying it at the dining table or breakfast bar, and from here you can access a conservatory with stylish sofas, a gorgeous spot to enjoy a cup of tea and a good book. With such a beautiful living area, it is no surprise that each bedroom is charming, and you can choose from a super king-size with a handy en-suite and French windows opening up into the garden, a ground-floor twin, a first floor king or double, there is a stylish bathroom where you can soak the sand from your hair. Outside, make the most of the barbecue in the enclosed garden space. Bamburgh is a fantastic seaside town with many attractions available for guests, beginning with the selection of tasty eateries and a deli, where you can stock up on essentials and try out local produce, or head to the local food emporium for more. Bamburgh has a magnificent castle which is well worth a visit, towering over the local countryside and you can find out more about the town’s history at the RNLI Darling Museum. There are many walks for those who love to immerse themselves in the countryside and coastal scenery, including Bamburgh Coast and Hills, Bamburgh Lighthouse, Bamburgh Beach and St Aidan’s Dunes. A little further from the property you will find the fascinating Holy Island with its array of wonderful historical sites, including Lindisfarne Priory, Lindisfarne Castle and a museum on local history. Fall in love with the beauty of Northumberland with a stay at the charming Armstrong Cottage No30.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.

Just a sort stroll to the castle, beach and village. Had a small problem with the heating system but this was sorted extremely promptly. Just missed a few little things such as kitchen equipment when cooking for a large family. Would certainly stay again.

Unfortunately the capacity is being reduced for the next booking season so, as a family of ten, we will have to look elsewhere, I would recommend this cottage to anyone who would love to see this beautiful area at it's best.
