Guests are delighted with the cottage's spaciousness, cleanliness, and proximity to the beach and Bamburgh Castle. The well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and garden are frequently praised. While minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is highly positive, with many guests returning and recommending the property.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The property is consistently described as 'super clean' with well-maintained interiors. One guest mentioned dog hairs, but this seems an isolated comment in the context of overall high standards of cleanliness.

The location is highly praised for its views of Bamburgh Castle, proximity to the beach, and the quiet, relaxing environment. It is considered an ideal base for exploring the local area.

Guests find the property very comfortable, with special mentions of the spaciousness, comfortable beds, and sofas. The garden adds to the comfort by providing a relaxing outdoor space.

The property is well-equipped with a variety of kitchenware and modern bathrooms. Some maintenance issues like a tricky key safe, dislodged tiles, and a cupboard door are noted, but these do not significantly detract from the overall experience.

Guests appreciate the well-stocked kitchen and the provision of cleaning products. Complimentary cookies, coffee, and tea are mentioned, adding a thoughtful touch, though it's politely noted that such gifts are subject to availability and not guaranteed.

About this property

Settled into the beautiful wooden-panelled Armstrong Cottages estate, built by Lord Armstrong for workers who were renovating Bamburgh Castle, Armstrong Cottage No2 is an ideal base for a family looking to explore the wonders of Bamburgh and the Northumberland coast. Park off-road and make yourself at home in a cheerful sitting/dining area where a stone fireplace houses a woodburning effect electric stove stove and adds a sense of history to this homely space. The kitchen houses all of the home-from-home amenities needed to cook up a storm, so you can enjoy dinner with a view across the garden or you can dine alfresco in the enclosed garden at the sitting area provided as your four-legged family members relax on the grass. This charming cottage offers three bedrooms, including master with king size bed and a handy en-suite and two twin bedrooms, ideal for children, as well as a family bathroom where you can enjoy a soak amongst the bubbles in the roll top bath. Bamburgh is a fantastic seaside town where you don’t have to travel far to enjoy a hot meal at one of the local eateries, and there is also the option of trying out local produce at the food deli and emporium. After a heart-warming lunch, head over to the magnificent Bamburgh Castle and enjoy its stunning sea and countryside views, before heading over to the beach to enjoy the sandy shore and salty air. More countryside walks are available along the coastline and sand dunes, and the town also has its own RNLI museum. Further from the property you will find more seaside walks and scenery at Beadnell and Seahouses, or there is the option to visit the well-known Holy Island with its fantastic Lindisfarne Priory, castle, museums and shops. Fall in love with the coast of Northumberland with a stay at Armstrong Cottage No2.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.

The setting is amazing and the cottage was very homely and had everything we could possibly need. We would definitely recommend this property and would love to return sometime soon.

Love this cottage, especially it’s location and hope to return again. A couple of things re maintenance Assume bulb gone in twin bedroom lamp, had quick look for spare but couldn’t find one. Double bedroom door from lounge doesn’t shut properly - guessing latch needs a tweak Lastly but most important is the lift up cupboard in the kitchen with mugs in also doesn’t stay up properly- it just missed my head yesterday but it caught my friend on the arm the day we arrived and really bruised her.

Criticisms first...no battery for the torch, garden a bit overgrown and the latch keeps opening on the back gate....minor faults easily rectifiable. Positives ..it's what we expect and enjoy. Parking space front and back to unload. Complimentary cookies, coffee and tea. View of Bamburgh Castle, just across the road from the beach. Seahouses is 10 minutes away by car,Bamburgh town a short walk away. Fantastic Bamburgh beach for our Well-being and our 2 labs love it. Three lovely bedrooms,a new shower facility, spacious kitchen, spacious living room with two settees,2 bathrooms/toilets/bidets and a dishwasher. Lovely garden for the dogs to run around in and for us to sit in and enjoy the sun. Hoover to get dog hairs up,usual cooking amenities and a lovely place to return to and relax. Comfy bedrooms to sleep in,heated radiators to dry things on. We will continue to return to Bamburgh as long as it is affordable. We feel rested and Northumberland is a beautiful place to visit. The weather was a bonus this year and we love driving through the countryside. We always feel welcome here. Thank you
