Within walking distance of the local pub, shop and village green, this Edmundbyers cottage is a great base from which to explore this beautiful area. Visit nearby Derwent Reservoir, Blanchland, Durham, Hexham, Hadrian's Wall and the Heritage Coast, all wonderful days out.

Edmundbyers is a traditional village situated south of the River Derwent, in the foothills of The North Pennines. From the village of Edmundbyers there are plenty of opportunities for walking, cycling, golfing, sailing, fishing and simply appreciating the quiet natural beauty. For a solo traveller or couple wanting to walk and explore the region, it is perfect. Everything is thought-out well in the cottage, and (with luck) you can park 6 feet from the front door. There is no store in Edmundbyers, so do come prepared. But the Derwent Arms is a terrific Pub and the BAA is a great small diner as well.

A good place to stay with lots of places to visit and lovely walks close by, also there’s a good pub - the Baa Bar for pizzas and a chat with the locals. I loved the vintage frog tiles in the bathroom, they made me smile each morning!

A great location for exploring the local area. We would definitely stay again.
