Excellent hosts and lovely cottage in a perfect place to explore Durham

A spacious and clean cottage. Although close to Durham, it is in a lovely rural setting, but in easy driving distance of many attractions, e.g. Beamish. I would happily stay again.

The Dairy Cottage is the perfect balance of rural quiet within 20 minutes walking distance along the river of Durham centre with its beautiful Cathedral, Castle, bars and restaurants. The house is in a beautiful setting with Old Durham Gardens 50m from your door. The courtyard is secure for cars with some outdoor space to enjoy the evening sun. Despite the country setting, you are just a few minutes drive from a major shopping area. For us, Durham was our base to explore the North of England, visiting Durham itself, Lindisfarne, Bamburgh Castle, Hadrian's Wall and York. It was very relaxing returning to Diary Cottage after a day's sightseeing. Dave was always on hand to provide assistance or advice.Would highly recommend.
