The Chapel is located in the heart of Staveley village, midway between Kendal and Windermere, providing a convenient base to explore the Lake District. Forming part of a former place of worship, The Chapel has been extensively refurbished to a high standard, including the addition of an en-suite in March 2021 and a fully fitted kitchen in 2022.
Retaining a traditional cottage feel with modern conveniences, the downstairs comprises an open-plan kitchen and living space as well as a bathroom with a shower over the bath. Upstairs includes a double bedroom with a king-size bed and en-suite, and a twin bedroom with an additional trundle bed for a fifth guest. There is off-road parking for 2 cars and a small, enclosed garden at the rear overlooking the River Gowan.
Staveley is a thriving village with numerous cafes, an artisan bakery, a pub, a grocery store, a newsagent, an ice cream shop and a playground. All within 160 yards of The Chapel. Superb walks ranging from strolls to full-day hikes can be enjoyed from the door for those not wishing to be too dependent on the car. A bus service also operates through the village linking to Kendal, Windermere, Ambleside and Keswick.

The cottage is in a central yet peaceful location and the sound of the river at the end of the garden is lovely.It is finished to a high standard, with high quality appliances in the kitchen.Stavley is a fantastic village, peaceful, pretty and very well catered for. It is also well served by public transport for exploring the lakes and wider area.

Home from our 2nd stay at The Chapel, Staveley and missing it already. Beautifully presented accommodation, spotlessly clean and with all the amenities you could wish for (having the ensuite plus larger bathroom is great if going away with friends or family.)Sitting at the bottom of the garden is one of my favourite places - listening to the river flowing past you can't help but unwind and relax.Staveley is an ideal base for exploring, being roughly halfway between Kendal and Windermere, either on foot or by using the excellent bus service (we didn't use the car all week), but if you don't want to venture too far, the village has all you need, including some lovely riverside walks. The property also has a lockable bike shed if you want to see the area on two wheels, and dedicated parking spaces for two cars.Can't wait to come back!

The Chapel is a wonderfully comfortable cottage with everything you could possibly need. The location is perfect for all the local amenities and the bus to Ambleside, Kendal and Keswick. Great walking from the door, we didn’t use the car all week!
