The Hayloft is set in the delightful Lakeland hamlet of Branthwaite and once discovered, you will want to return time after time. The quiet country lanes, rarely disturbed by a passing car, are surrounded with lush green fields, quieter fell walks and some of the prettiest villages you will ever visit.
The apartment has been refurbished to a very high standard, and the open plan living space is filled with natural light and has plenty of room for you both. A cosy sofa in the living area is ideal to snuggle up on and watch a romantic film together, whilst the kitchen has everything you need to make that special meal. A sumptuous kingsize bed awaits you in the bedroom, with the feature roll-top bath just across the room so a long relaxing soak in bubbles is never far away. A shared patio with garden furniture is across the lane, with a walled river adjacent, and is a delightful place to sit and listen to the bird song and gentle babbling waters running by.
The apartment benefits from a superb fellside location in ’John Peel country’, situated on the tranquil Caldbeck Fells with walks directly from the door and quiet country lanes ideal for cycling. The renowned village of Caldbeck is within 3 miles with pub, tea room and shops. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

We really enjoyed our stay here and The Hayloft was perfect for the two of us. The accommodation is modern, finished to a high standard and with many thoughtful touches. We particularly appreciated the art and design pieces throughout which really elevated the space. We both slept amazingly well and it was just the digital detox we needed. Whilst staying host Simon was very welcoming and helpful with recommendations for places to visit. We particularly enjoyed the cruise on Ullswater and renting a boat to explore Windermere as well as seeking out some spectacular waterfalls. We would 100% stay again and recommend to others wanting a space to retreat back to and relax after a busy day's exploring.

The cottage was clean and comfortable. The facilities were good and the bed was comfortable. The walk-in shower worked well. The off road parking close to the entrance door was very convenient. We loved the location at the foot of the Caldbeck Fells, we were able to go walking straight from the door and did some enjoyable walks in the surrounding area. We very much enjoyed our week's stay and would be happy to return again to The Hayloft. The welcome cheese, biscuits and chilli jam left for us by the owner was appreciated and enjoyed.

A warm welcome from the owner. Area chosen specifically to hike the Wainwright Northern Fells, so location ideal for that. Property very well equipped for self-catering, comfortable, warm and peaceful. Super big bath for relaxing in after a day on the Fells. Would highly recommend.
