The site is ideal for those seeking relaxation and nature, with thoughtful touches such as a welcome pack and on-site shop, making it a popular choice for return visits.

Most guests found the lodge very clean and well-kept, though there was one notable complaint about dog hair and a cleaning oversight. The majority of reviews highlight spotless accommodation.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, beautiful views, and proximity to the Lake District. Guests appreciated the peaceful setting and access to scenic walks.

Guests generally found the lodge cosy and comfortable, enjoying the warmth and amenities. However, several mentioned the bed being very hard and pillows flat, which affected sleep quality for some.

The views from this lodge are stunning. When it's clear you can see across the Solway Firth to Scotland, a glorious sight. In March the site was very peaceful. It is tidy and well kept. Though in the rain the parking spot could have been wider, we were paddling in mud at one side of the car.The lodge is generally comfortable. A good sofa, dining table and chairs. The bed is incredibly hard, but that might be your preference. It is lovely and warm and cosy. The shower works well, is powerful and hot. There are plenty of plates and bowls and other cooking equipment, but 6 mugs is not really enough when using with a dishwasher (though they were good big mugs 🙂)The only complaint is that the WiFi was unusable. It shouldn't really be advertised as having WiFi. Do not think you will be able to connect even your phone and you certainly can't stream TV. Because I was expecting it, this made the holiday very difficult. But if you don't want WiFi this is a great holiday choice.

My partner and I stayed here as a last minute booking for Christmas. Although only there for a couple of days we could fault nothing. The lodge was spotless and had everything we needed. Hot tub and log burner gave it the added touch. Location is idyllic with lots of walks close by. We had a little walk with the alpacas on Christmas Day. We have a camper van and plan on coming back to one of their free standing pitches with hot tubs!
