Oak Vale is situated in the beautiful village of Braithwaite, just outside of Keswick. With two pubs in the village and a hotel and restaurant next door to the property, you are within walking distance of some fantastic restaurants and bars within the village. There are also two cafes and a Village Shop. Explore the Northern Fells with great walking and mountain biking on your doorstep, as well as the Go Ape and visitor centre at Whinlatter. The bustling market town of Keswick is just 2 miles away, with its superb selection of shops, attractions, and Lake Derwentwater all within easy reach. Combine this with the magnificent surroundings of Lakes and mountains and here you have found the ideal location for your stay. The nearest bus stop is just a 5-minute walk from the property, making is super easy to explore the area.

Lovely cottage for two, location perfect for North Lakes/Keswick. Public transport links good, views amazing.

Lovely cottage, well appointed and spotless inside. Kitchen well stocked with utensils and equipment. Bed is huge and super comfy. Bathroom is a good size and shower is very good. Living area is ample for 2 people but only 1 sofa and a cuddle chair and possibly 2 x2 seater sofas would be a nice addition. The reason I didn’t give 5 stars for everything is because of the internet/wi-fi. It’s really poor and is impossible for 2 people to look at the internet at the same time. The TVs have limited channels and because of the poor internet it’s really hard to stream anything. Took us 2 hours to watch 30 minutes of a film so we gave up. We did end up leaving a couple of days early but on the whole it was a good week.
