The former Chaucer House Hotel was converted into 14 luxury apartments and is located in the heart of Keswick with all amenities on the doorstep. It is in a very quiet part of the town but still only five minutes’ walk to Market Square and ten minutes’ to the lake shore. It is a perfect base to enjoy a holiday in the Northern Lakes. With many walks surrounding this pretty town, your car may never leave its parking space.
Chaucer’s Nook is situated on the lower ground floor of Chaucer House and is luxuriously furnished with an eye for detail. It is extremely well-equipped throughout with an emphasis on quality.

While the accommodation was very clean, in an excellent location and the equipment of a good standard we were rather surprised to find we were in a basement with very limited daylight. I note it says lower level but this, in our opinion, does not give the true picture. We did actually leave a night early as the bedroom felt damp so much so we slept very little.

We both thoroughly enjoyed our five night stay at the Chaucer's Nook apartment. It was clean, spacious, and everything we needed was provided including good quality dishes, cups, cutlery and all electrical appliances. The only thing I think would help future guests is a slight amendment to the instructions for finding the apartment. It would've helped us if the directions had said to turn left at the war memorial into Station Road and then to immediately turn left into Southey Road. This would've put us in a position to park, collect the keys from the office and then continue up Southey Rd the few hundred yards straight to the apartment. Instead we were on the one way Station Rd and not knowing Keswick at all had to then find our way to Chaucer's Nook, which we found very confusing. This is not a complaint just an observation to help others
