A stunning end terrace cottage which has been extended, modernised, furnished and equipped to an excellent standard by the owners. 3 Barf Cottages is situated along a small, no thoroughfare lane, in the village of Portinscale. There are several cafes, tea rooms, restaurants and two marinas in this popular lakeside village, which is accessible via a footpath from Keswick, where you will find a wealth of amenities. Much effort and attention to detail has been afforded by the owners to create a cottage oozing with quality and great facilities. There is a fabulous garden room which doubles as the dining room, overlooking the garden to the fells beyond, bathroom and shower room, excellent kitchen, wood burner, wooden floors, parking and Wi-Fi.

What a lovely cottage! It had everything we needed, a well equipped kitchen with tea coffee and even milk in the fridge and biscuits. A comfortable lounge with log burner. A lovely, bright dining area with a beautiful garden view. My mum loved her downstairs en-suite bedroom with patio doors onto the garden, it was perfect. Me and my sister had a spacious bedroom each, the beds were very comfortable. We had sunday dinner at The Farmers Arms pub which is just a few feet away. The Chalet tearooms a 5min walk served a good breakfast. We walked to keswick town centre over the suspension bridge, a short walk about 30mins. There is regular a bus service too. We would definately stay again.

What a wonderful property and so well thought out- perfect to celebrate 75th birthday with family. The facilities are really good and the kitchen/garden room is just perfect for hanging out as a group. We were lucky with the weather as sunny and warm so we made good use of the patio to chill out between adventures. Everything is on hand to make your stay comfortable if the weather's bad and spend more time indoors - lots of games, smart tv etc. If you want a negative - there's no phone signal on O2 but for us it was a blessing! Nice friendly pub within walking distance for an evening beverage if required. It,s a quiet village with no shops but 'The Chalet' is excellent for breakfast/lunch and you're within easy access of the whole of the North Lakes with facilities in Keswick 5mins drive or 20mins walk! First time I've said I would stay in the same place again and would so 10 out of 10 from us!
