A stunning end terrace cottage which has been extended, modernised, furnished and equipped to an excellent standard by the owners. 3 Barf Cottages is situated along a small, no thoroughfare lane, in the village of Portinscale. There are several cafes, tea rooms, restaurants and two marinas in this popular lakeside village, which is accessible via a footpath from Keswick, where you will find a wealth of amenities. Much effort and attention to detail has been afforded by the owners to create a cottage oozing with quality and great facilities. There is a fabulous garden room which doubles as the dining room, overlooking the garden to the fells beyond, bathroom and shower room, excellent kitchen, wood burner, wooden floors, parking and Wi-Fi.

Absolutely loved my stay here. Cottage was lovely, really clean and comfortable. The conservatory is a lovely place to sit and enjoy breakfast whilst being able to look at the local wildlife, then a comfortable living area to retire to in the evening. Very good kitchen will all amenities. Comfortable bedrooms, clean bathroom and shower room even had washing machine and dryer although we didn't use either.Not much in the local area apart from a pub which we did use and it did really nice affordable food. There is a walk into Keswick which is only just over a mile and is flat all the way and to be honest, after the bustle of Keswick it was really nice to get back to a quiet cottage. If you are lucky enough to have a clear night then make sure you go out for a look at the stars.Cannot recommend Barf Cottage enough, it was a great place to stay and I will hopefully go again.

A spacious but cosy cottage with gorgeous views, and birds to watch, from the garden room. Very clean and comfy. Great location for walking to Keswick, or up Catbells (did both). The local pub was perfect for a post-hike tea and we had a delicious breakfast at the Chalet on the morning we left. There are no shops in the village but Keswick is close by and there is a Spar 5 minutes drive - if that - from the cottage. We would definitely stay here again if visiting this area.
