"Excellent tranquil countryside oasis. Very stylishly decorated and finished to a high quality. Would highly rate and I’m sure we will be staying again."

"This cottage was a surprise for my boyfriends 20th as a present from me I also invited his friends as it’s fits 4 and he would of loved them there , this is one of the best places I’ve seen and even better in person! The hot tub is amazing both night and day, they gave us milk and a bottle of wine. There is a Sainsbury’s near by 4 min drive. There was some lovely farmer girls and boys who walk there dog across the land but this happened only once did not bother us. Worth the money and we would love to go back again for the summer this time. Thank you Broomhills for one of the best weekends of all time. I have lots of people wanting details to hopefully try it out too:)"

"Lovely cottage however a few pointers that need to be made. Dishwasher was full when arrived so before we could use it we had to empty, Sky TV and WIFI was very temperamental and the hot tub was hardly full when we arrived so when the jets were on you would just get squirted. On the 2nd to last day, we went out all day and went to go into ths hot tub when we got back but it appeared to had been turned off so we couldn’t use the full potential of it!"

"Great place to stay for a relaxing few days celebrating my dads birthday."

"What a gem! Myself and my partner stayed here during the first week of October 2018. We were going through the stressful process of buying a house at the time and this was a much welcomed break. The location is fantastic; easy to find and just up the road from Melbourne village in Derby. The cottage is about half a mile along a gravel path from the main property and is perfectly secluded to give you the feeling of being completely alone. Highly recommended for anyone looking for some peace and tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.Stunning fields surround the cottage and a line of trees accent the side of the cottage where the hot tub sits. The hot tub was a definite highlight and we used this everyday of the holiday; sometimes it was during the day where we could watch rabbits and pheasants across the fields, other times it was in the evening so we could enjoy the stars. The cottage itself is gorgeous and has been furnished by someone with a keen eye for style. It is definitely not style over substance though as things like the heated bathroom floor and adjustable lighting were well thought out and all furniture is of a high quality. The bed in the master room was very comfy and I loved the quirky inclusion of a toilet and shower in the master bedroom too.The location of the accommodation means you have easy access to plenty of things to do. The highlights for us were when we visited Calke Abbey and a fascinating little hollowed-out cave called Anchor Church. All in all we had a fantastic time and we can't wait to come back! It truly is a little slice of heaven and we have recommended this to many of our friends looking for a break from their busy lives.Thank you!"

"A lovely chilled week away, we love the remote location. We feel that the cleanliness had slipped a little since we stayed here last year. Also there are a few small jobs that need completing, ie painting, clearing drains, etc"

"It is a lovely property but there were certain factors that let it down. With great views and a hot tub and lots of outside space. It was a shame to findThat The shower and bathroom taps hadnt been cleaned as there was heavy water marks. Garden needed attentionHosepipe hadn’t been put away. The summer house is used as a shed and utility. We appreciate that it is a dog friendly property but we found dog hair when we arrived. As fun as spotting the aeroplanes was for the kids it did get loud and fairly frequent."

"Terrific property in a great location. Worth every penny of the cost. Very small niggle in such an upmarket property it would have been nice if there had been matching glasses. There was a bit of a mix of sizes and shapes with no four matching ones. Certainly nothing that would put us off and we will be back next year. The bottle of wine on arrival was a nice touch. Thank you"

"The cottage was in a great location, the biggest disappointment was being so close to North East airport. The plains went over every thirty minutes which became an issue at night when the children were in bed."

"We had a lovely stay at the Broomhills. Unfortunately the weather was awful but it didn’t stop us enjoying ourselves. The hot tub was lovely and the cottage and grounds are fab. We only had one criticism and that would be the two German shepherd dogs that get walked on the grounds every morning. The dogs every morning came right up to the house and poo’d in the garden every day and the owner never once picked it up so we were having to. Plus these dogs were quite intimidating when you had to walk past them. We have a cockapoo and she loved the land. We were also in the hot tub and a brown Labrador came running over from another field and decided to poo right by the hot tub. His also we had to clean up. I felt the cottage could have benefited from a thorough clean as the tv cabinet was covered in dust and other areas too but it didn’t take away from how lovely the cottage was. Perhaps new towels would be nice as some of them were heavily stained. We found the cottage had all the essentials including dishwasher tablets, tea, coffee and the welcome bottle of wine was a lovely touch. We would definitely recommend the Broomhills and will be looking to re book soon. Helpfully with better weather!"

"Broomhills is a fabulous getaway cottage hidden on private land away from everything. The seclusion of the property was one of the main reasons were picked the place. The cottage itself is finished to a high standard and is like a home away from home with a hot tub as a bonus! Our little cocker spaniel loved running around the grounds to her hearts content.Plenty to do in the local area. All in all a lovely, peaceful and private break. Will definitely be returning"

"It was an absolute pleasure to have stayed at Broomhills cottage. Lovely and modern house, well equipped, great views. Very remote yet close (5min by car) to local amenities. Hot tube was great. Will be definitely going back."

"Absolutely loved it here, shame the Beast of the East decided to visit the same week. The house though was so nice we didn't mind spending all our time here, fitting in the odd dog walk to the Melbourne Inn. Only regret is not being able to spend more time in the hot tub, due to the ferocious ice cold winds"
    Joanne ‐ 24 Feb 2018
"Just what we were looking for. Everything we needed was here and the hot tub was lovely. A very private break from the world."
    Natasha ‐ 17 Feb 2018
"We’ve just returned from a very relaxing break at Broomhills. The house is very comfortable, functional and well equipped. We were unaware how much land surrounds the property and our Collie has the best time bombing around-he didn’t have to go on the lead for the whole week! It would have been beneficial to have a visitors book from previous visitors as they are often a great insight into local places of interest and tips for the local area. Would stay here again in a heartbeat."
