About this property

Set back from the busy main road within its own double-fenced garden and with ample off-road parking, is Heliview Cottage. This traditional, stone-built property sits alongside and is owned by the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust, which was the first air ambulance in the UK taking to the skies in 1987. It is a wonderful spot for aviation enthusiasts to bring their loved ones to explore a fascinating region of Cornwall, with the opportunity to see the helicopters up close and meet the crew. The interior is very light and bright with modern furnishings and fabulous views from the bedroom windows of Newquay Airport. Arrive at the front entrance and kick off your muddy hiking boots or sandy flip flops in the porchway before relaxing into your evening and getting some much-needed rest. Make the most of your down time with your family and friends by gathering around the dining table for a homemade meal cooked up in the fully appointed kitchen, before unwinding in front of the woodburning stove on a cool wintry evening in the sitting room. Get competitive over a board game on the coffee table, tune into the TV or simply catch up on the adventures you've had so far. Feel welcomed into the conservatory one sun-filled morning and enjoy your first coffee of the day as you take in your surroundings. Climb the staircase to catch your rest at the end of the day in either the double bedroom or the twin, which is a zip/link bed and can be made into a super king-size on request for couples. The third bedroom rests under the eaves with two Velux windows streaming in plenty of natural light, along with a TV and twin beds, perfect for those travelling with kids. They can use this space as their private little hide out, where they can sink into the bean bag chairs and get out some books and games to pass a couple of hours. To the exterior, you have a wonderful enclosed garden enjoying a picnic area and garden furniture on the paved patio, the perfect spot to relax with a chilled drink and watch the occasional arrivals and departures at the nearby airport. If you can tear yourself away from plane spotting there are plenty of fun things to see and do in the local area, with Newquay hosting fabulous surfing and other watersports, a SEA LIFE centre and zoo. There are also a number of places to eat and drink, while walking and cycling come in abundance, the perfect way to spend a family holiday. Choose to explore the St Agnes Heritage Coast and even venture out to the Eden Project to spend a day strolling its beautiful gardens. Find your escape here at Heliview Cottage.

St Columb Major is an old and picturesque market town nestled among lush green countryside, just five miles from the North Cornish Coast. The resort attractions of Newquay includes bars, clubs, a zoo, vibrant shops, the National Surfing Centre and fabulous beaches are all just 7 miles away, while 9 miles in the other direction is the sleepy fishing port of Padstow. In between lies a beautiful section of the South West Coast path, winding its way over the clifftops, down to tranquil coves and across some of the region's top beaches.
