    • Isobel - Verified booking

This is an amazing cottage if you want to have a chill out and would also be ideal for walkers.

My daughter and I went for a week's chill out as she needed a break from work. Travelled in all directions and took in the amazing scenery around this area. Christine is an amazing host, even greeted us with two glasses of whisky. She is very friendly and cannot do enough for you. Looks out onto the glen where cows and sheep wander and trees outside cottage where we watched the woodpeckers appear regularly a well as many other birds. Only 12 miles from Drumnadrochit where you can eat in Fiddlers Restaurant and taste some of their amazing malt whiskies. An amazing village just to have a wander in. Nearby is Beauly and a wee bit further on Dingwall. We even drove to Ullapool and the scenery was amazing. First class in every way well maybe the weather was a wee bit disappointing but did not bother us.

An absolute joy staying 30th Jun for 7 nights.

Ample room for 2 people.Spotlessly clean and all you need for your break. So peaceful and surrounded by nature which suits us fine. First day for example had a visit in front of us at lochside of a kingfisher sitting waiting for a fish which was caught and returned to its perch plus many sightings including pair of black throated divers. Plenty walks around the grounds and places of interest easy driving with breathtaking scenery. Hotel serves fab scones and coffee/tea and delicious dinner ( best to book ahead for dinner). Janetta is on hand for any problems or advice .Although we didnt require any assistance always good to know she was there for us. So thank you for your service and giving us the most relaxing break in the Boathouse Dave & Chris

We were lucky to be at the cottage in warm weather, but there was one evening when it was cool.

I was so grateful to be able to pop the heating on for an hour as I have an underlying health condition meaning my pain increases with the cold. The cottage was spotlessly clean and fresh on arrival and I was pleased to have access to cleaning tools so that I could leave it clean and tidy. The big bed was so comfy we slept really well. There really wasn't a thing we needed everything was provided. The owners live on site and were friendly and welcoming and it offered reassurance that should we need assistance they were on hand. We would be delighted to return at some point.

The cottage was spotlessly clean with everything we needed for an enjoyable stay, the location for us was perfect with a beautiful view from the front of the cottage.

The owner Christine was lovely and Hugo the spaniel a delight. We booked both cottages together, they were just perfect for 2 couples wanting their own space but close enough to pop in and out either through the patio doors at the front or the doors at the back, the back door led into an entrance with the back doors to each cottage on either side but with their own keys for privacy. The only thing I would add is a shower over the bath as one of our party needs help getting out of a bath but we managed ok. Would 100% recommend. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The cottage is advertised as a 4 bed, but is very small with the bedroom being very small with only 2 single beds and they are really only childrens beds they aren't proper solid adult beds.

The double sofa bed in the living room is also only really suitable for 1 person sue to the position it needs to be put up in and the stability of it, and there is nowhere for the people in the living room to really store their stuff. Also there is only a bath / no shower which when their are 3 people coming back from walking all day isn't great. I would say it is really a cottage for a couple or no more than 3 maximum. It's quite expensive for the week given the size of it and it's minimalistic facilities although it is in a nice location.
