What our customers say about their holidays

    • Joan - Verified booking

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Brynhir Farm!

Rooms: The barn and the rooms inside it were lovely and spacious, and it had a nice homey feel. We liked that both bedrooms had their own en-suites and TV’s. Cleanliness: Brynhir farm was spotlessly clean when we arrived. Amenities/Facilities: All of the facilities in the kitchen, bathroom and lounge areas worked perfectly and were high quality. We had everything we needed during our stay (enough cutlery/crockery, seating, towels etc). We also made use of the hot tub on several occasions during our stay which was very relaxing and was pre-heated upon our arrival so we could use it straight away. Distance from attractions: Brynhir Farm is a little bit of a drive away from some attractions however we loved being out in the country and still managed to visit Llandrindod Wells (which is one of the closest towns to the barn and has a lovely lake to visit), the Small Breeds Animal Farm, Aberystwyth, and Elan Valley. Property owner: Mrs. Nixon made us feel so welcome and at home in the barn during our stay! She showed us around when we arrived and was so friendly. Other: One of our favourite parts of staying at Brynhir Farm was being able to sit out on the balcony and watch the Red Kites flying over in the mornings. There were even binoculars provided to make this even better for us! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Brynhir Farm and we’d definitely recommend it to anyone who was visiting mid-Wales and we’d love to come back if we visit again.

I would definitely recommend and return to Brynhir farm after spending a lovely week in this amazing place.

The photos really don’t do it justice. I felt like I was in a self catering hotel suite. Ceinwein (owner and very friendly) has thought of everything and the little things made it feel like it was home to home. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great but it didn’t matter as we thoroughly enjoyed chilling in this luxurious place until the rain stopped at 3pm! WiFi and mobile reception was intermittent but it was an added bonus to have a break from gadget screens. WiFi works in the main farmhouse if you’re desperate but we found a signal standing outside the main farmhouse. We only needed it for researching things to do. We filled our week up and ventured to many places. I’d recommend bringing a night light if you have children as it is pitch black at night. But the bonus of no light pollution was sitting on the balcony looking at the stars. My son was very excited to see shooting stars and satellites. There is a sat freeview tv in every room but we also brought our own dvds (not Blu-ray). The sheep and cows were very entertaining with their conversations plus we had the pleasure of kites whistling to each and flying from tree to tree. Stunning birds. Loved it all!

      · We had a very comfortable 1-week stay at Holly Farm Cottage.

The farmhouse is in a beautiful area of the Welsh countryside, a short drive from many scenic spots and also reasonable driving distance from the Hay Festival. The hosts live in the adjoining cottage, they were friendly and respected our privacy. We enjoyed the views from the bedrooms with rolling hills and cute sheep enjoying the sun, and the large outdoor hot tub was the perfect way to relax in the evenings. The cottage is spacious and was immaculately clean upon arrival. Our hosts had thought of everything, the cottage has all the cooking equipment you might need, extra towels for the hot tub, even a medical kit for a friend who cut her hand. It's located on a working farm, and we found it very interesting watching the sheep get sheared from the windows! Overall we felt very at home in the cottage and would stay again. · The WiFi signal is very weak in the cottage and didn't reach all the bedrooms, which may be an issue if you intend on spending a lot of time indoors. This was not a big issue for us, however, and everything else about our stay was perfect.

My partner and I stayed at the barn for 5 nights in November.

As soon as we entered the accommodation we noticed how warm and clean it was. We left our luggage in one of the downstairs bedrooms and the headed up the stairs. The upper floor has a gorgeous open plan layout with a spacious living room at one end and a huge kitchen area at the other. The place was spotless and contained everything we needed for our stay. The owner, Mrs Nixon, came over to greet us and is very friendly. Situated in mid Wales, the barn is in the ideal spot for days out. We were lucky with the weather and went out everyday but we would have happily spent all day in the barn if it was raining. We were amazed at how quiet it was. The only sounds outside being the wildlife which includes a pair or Red Kites that sit in the trees opposite the barn. Great for wildlife photography. We have already booked to go back again in the summer and would thoroughly recommend it. 10/10

      Excellent property.

Modernised to a high standard. Facilities are brilliant, spacious accommodation, comfy sofas, beautiful bathrooms, the kitchen has everything you may need and loads of crockery & cutlery so you never run out when the dishwashers on. Only negative we could think of was the bifold doors to the patio needs attention after the wet winter and you have to be careful because the chairs can slipped down grill on patio....but very minor points in such a lovely place. There is limited road side parking but loads of parking round the corner if needed. Would have give it all 5 stars but the cleaner left a bottle of milk from previous guest...which had gone off. Windows and patio door could do with a bit of a clean n re paint. But these were small things and did not affect our holiday or our over all opinion of this 5 start accommodation. Thank you would definitely stay again.
