What our customers say about their holidays

We stayed at Red Brick Retreat in November.

Mike the host was great, very friendly, funny and put us instantly at ease. On arrival there was welcome gifts of prosseco, cake, eggs, bread, butter and more. The cottage itself is super cosy, clean and decorated beautifully. It has everything you could need for a break away they haven't forgotten anything. The hot tub is big and very clean and comfortable with built in lights. You're not allowed to go in the hot tub after 10:30pm which isn't ideal for a romantic break but we still loved it. There was no smoking and for this I would suggest allowing a designated outside smoking area as long as guests leave it how they found it. The hot tub was cleaned regularly but unlike some other cottages where the owners turn up without letting you know, Mike would only come through the garden to clean it when he knew we were out or said he would text if we werent going out. Which is really great and adds to the privacy. This cottage is in the owners garden and is right next to their house and the neighbours, this wasn't a problem for us but if you're looking for something more remote then it is worth noting. The bed was super comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for Mike he was very kind and a great host. We've given 5stars because it deserves 5stars.

What a relaxing break we had at this beautiful barn in beautiful surroundings.

We didn't want to leave. The photos do not do it justice. I took an 8 minute video and sent it to friends and family and everyone commented on its beauty. As a family, we ranged from age 21 to 89 years and took our 17 yr old Jack Russell with us and we all enjoyed our holiday break. The barn is home from home, clean and spacious and well layed out. We each had our own rooms and showers, and bath in the master room, which allowed us our own privacy and space when needed. The garden is huge and secure for our dog to bimble around, until his little legs tired, whereby he would collapse infront of the open french doors in his bed. The hot tub was incredibly clean and a great way to relax at the end of the day. This was a first experience for our 89 year old aunt. The owners have clearly thought of everything and the welcome pack was greatly appreciated. We all would definately recommend this property and hope to return :)))

All you really need to do at Whitehands Farm Barn is turn up.

Everything else has already been thought of and is already there! I specifically bought plastic flutes to have Prosecco in the hot tub, there was no need as plastic glass ware in all shapes and sizes were already there! So now my family and friends have said I have to buy my own hot tub at home to go with my plastic flutes (I’ll try!) Colin and Mary are fantastic hosts. The space they have created for us to enjoy is amazing. I would love to book again in the future and am already definitely recommending Whitehands Farm Barn to everyone I know. It is gorgeous! Only couple of minor points, we never found the drying room but used the clothes airer provided in the shed in front of the radiator in the kitchen. And we got caught out by ordering from one local take away restaurant who only accepted cash on delivery as we only had payment cards on that particular evening.

We had a lovely time at Whitehands Farm Barn.

The enclosed garden was perfect for our dog and the hot tub was fab! Cottage well equipped and clean. We did have a problem with the TV, which we reported to owner and they looked at the next day. Unfortunately it couldn’t be fixed so they ordered a new one but this didn’t arrive whilst we were there, hopefully it will be in time for the next customers. We were left a lovely welcome pack which was gratefully received! The location was beautiful and perfectly situated for travelling around Norfolk and Suffolk. Would recommend Horsey Windpump, Ross’ Wildlife Boat Trip, Sandringham Estate, Sutton Hoo, all of the National Trust Houses, and for a lovely meal go to the Gamekeepers in Old Buckenham. Thank you to Colin and Mary for a lovely stay!

The place was absolutely spotless and you can see the care put into it.

ALL the little details really made it, such as, cake, eggs, butter, milk ect there waiting for us, robes, plenty of towels, skimmer for hottub and more. We were welcomed with a friendly Mike who wasn't in a rush to show us around and make sure we were happy with everything. Even though Mike and Julie's property, along with a neighbours, was just behind us, you completely forgot they were there as you rarely saw anyone and had complete privacy in the back garden/hottub where you are encased in your own little sanctuary with all mod cons. The cleanliness was top notch, even the hottub looked like it was brand new and wasn't overfilled with chemicals. If you are after a couples getaway, this is definitely the place to go. Thank you so much
