    Holiday Cottages in Brixham

Where in the UK are you going to find the world's biggest gathering of pirates or a festival devoted entirely to crabs? If you fancy your timbers shivered or want to get to grips with some the best seafood in the UK, then check out our range of

    Brixham Cottages

for your next holiday. There are plenty of family attractions too, such as the Neolithic subterranean spectacular of Kent's Cavern or the scaled-down delights of Babbacombe Model Village.

    You'll find our

    Brixham Cottages

located slap-bang in the heart of the English Riviera. If you're looking for a beach holiday with spectacular sands and clear waters, Brixham is the place to be. With a picturesque harbour and excellent fishing opportunities, Brixham also benefits from a particularly warm climate, making it a welcoming holiday destination at any time of year.

What can I do on my holiday in Brixham?

A better question would be 'what can't I do?'! Our extensive selection of

    Holiday Cottages in Brixham

will put you in touch with a host of things to see and do. A visit to the replica of the Golden Hind is a must and ideal for families. Venture over the border into Cornwall and up onto Bodmin Moor, and you can explore the imposing Bodmin Gaol, which is over 300 years old. If the sight of shackles and cells gets a bit too much, you can refresh yourself in the onsite tea-room.

Back in Devon, Berry Pomeroy Castle is just what you want from an ancient ruin - crumbling, inspiring and alleged to be one of the most haunted castles in Britain. However, if you'd prefer something less ghoulish, a trip on the Kingswear Paddle Steamer will show you the splendour of the English Riviera, from the water – and not a ghost in sight!

Being so close to the sea, fish is a popular choice for eating out, and you'll find it on the menu in chippies and fine-dining restaurants in the area. However, if fish isn't your thing then the local farms supply eateries in the area with some of the best and freshest produce in the land.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Terry - Verified booking

On arrival to the cottage we found it very easy to find and simple to gain entry via the key safe and information supplied.

The cottage was very clean and the view from the dining room on the ground floor was striking. The kitchen was compact but there was everything you could possibly want in terms of utensils, pots, pans, dish washer, washing machine and lots of crockery including various glasses. The stairs to the 1st floor are steep and narrow so be warned! The bathroom is excellent with a bath and a shower and is quite big for a cottage. The living room with TV and two sofas was brilliant, I said that the view from the dining room was striking but, from the living room and balcony it is awesome. The two bedrooms were spacious with excellent views and the beds extremely comfortable. I will say, you MUST read the description regarding the steep steps from the harbour. the first flight of 29 steps from street level is like a staircase followed by about 8 gently rising steps followed by about 8 more steep steps. Then there are more steps to the door and more again inside. We were a party of 60 somethings and managed fine but, please don't go here and complain about access as it is in the description. All in all the cottage is first class and the views are outstanding. Having said all of this if you have a car, the parking bay is only a few yards from the gate and apart from shopping it is quite feasible to spend an entire week sitting on the balcony (weather permitting of course). Would I recommend the property? You bet!

Location of the property is excellent, just behind the main street.

The road to the property is VERY narrow so if you have a big car like us be careful. The property is on 3 levels with the kitchen on the ground floor with the dining room. Bedrooms on the top floor have fantastic views across the harbour and are comfortable. The main issue we would say would be some parts of the cottage need updating or a very deep clean. The sofas are dirty, the heated towel rail in the bathroom is badly rusted at the bottom and the floor needs re-grouting as there are a lot of loose tiles. Window frames around the property were full of cobwebs and grime. Dining room on the ground floor needs laminate flooring not carpet, and needs brightening up as it’s a small area with very dark furniture in it. Kitchen is small but more than adequate with new cupboards and appliances which is a plus. The furniture on the balcony is old and rusted so we didn’t use it which is a shame as it would be a superb place to sit on an evening and relax watching the boats come and go. Overall, this property could be so much better given some attention and thought. Location 10/10, cleanliness 3/10.

The Nook was a beautifully presented cottage with lots of traditional features and modern touches.

The welcome pack was much appreciated after a long drive, thankyou. It was close to the town centre and a great base for a week's holiday. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was amazing. The kitchen was well equipped and we ate at home several evenings. A couple of points worth noting: The traffic lights are two cars length from the front door and awaiting cars can be heard clearly as the front door opens directly into the pavement. The road can be noisy. The instructions state no parties and be considerate neighbours but the neighbour to our left was not so considerate and partied onto 4:00am on the first Monday, so much so we had to change rooms. The detail of the cottage includes woodburning stove and starter pack. This is not accurate. It is a gas fire. The cottage is centrally heated so we didn't need to use it, but it is misleading. That being said we had a great week and enjoyed our stay in Brixham.

As other reviewers have said - be sure to read the listing for Blue Horizon so as not to be surprised on arrival - except perhaps by the simply amazing views from virtually every window which you might not be prepared for.

The property was originally a fisherman’s cottage, close to the the working harbour - Brixham is still a working fishing port with all the associated sights and sounds that are part of that canvas. Previous comments about the parking are correct - and some cars are not ideally suited to using the space - especially if lower to the ground as there is a danger of scraping the underside of the car. There is either long stay parking (£8.50/24hrs - Sept 21) or free on road parking nearby which we used as do many locals. Arranged over three floors the cottage is well equipped, and proved to be an excellent base from which to explore this part of South Devon - on foot, by sea and by car. The WiFi was excellent and the SmartTV and DVD player were appreciated. There was plenty of hot water for showering, towels were provided.

      We had a lovely stay.

The cottage was nicely presented, clean and well provided with necessities. The only downside was that the bedroom blinds aren’t blackout blinds and let in quite a bit of light from the street. The location was good as it was a short walk from the town centre and sea front. Brixham is a really nice place to stay. There are some lovely local businesses very close by- we particularly enjoyed the cheese shop and the Flour Flower cafe which are just around the corner and the very close by Manor pub has a great selection of spirits. On street parking, as described, is a little tricky but that is expected in Devon and Cornwall and we still managed to find space to park on the street near the Battery Gardens that wasn’t too far away. We enjoyed our holiday and would happily recommend this property.
