What our customers say about their holidays

    • Fiona - Verified booking

The cottage was lovely in lots of respects , as described on the listing .

Lovely location great local pub , The Great Western with a great landlord and lovely food . Local shop that's very convenient too . Beds really comfy all well appointed as a home . Overall lovely and would recommend. Only a few niggles and would prefer to have a direct convo than put public, as only niggles and didn't massively affect our stay . Parking- this isn't ideal . We arrived after a long journey in the rain and could not get anywhere near the cottage . We had to park ages away which if you are not fit to be lugging your stuff then this is a deal breaker . This didn't get any better as we stayed there . Could you not at least get a cone for day of arrival ? And the day of leaving. Few maintenance things , the toilet handle is loose and needs fixing as this pinches your hand . The toilet seat is also loose and needs securing . The bathroom is lovely and shower great . The stairs altho mentioned as steep , they are very steep and the hessian carpet a little slippy on them in socks - might need a look at . The heating was insane while we were there , and not being able to adjust was limiting . It was sooooooo hot everywhere . Even when we turned radiators off . The heating seemed to be on all night aswell . We do worry about your bills ! Only last comment was the downstairs did smell of dogs ...not sure if the previous people had dogs in and it was wet days. It wasn't a major thing but just to mention . And to mention again ,these are just niggles as the place is lovely and we had a lovely cosy time and I would definitely recommend , they are more things that may need just attending to for it to be perfect ! Thank you .

Just back from a lovely stay at The forest coach house.

The cottage is perfect and a home away from home. Very clean and has everything you needed. Tracey was a wonderful host, there if you needed her but otherwise left to go about your holiday as you wish. The cottage is a short walk to Cinderford town centre, where you will be greeted by an array of shops and plenty of food establishments. The golden lion pub in Cinderford was very welcoming and family friendly, highly recommend a visit. Perrygrove railway is a short drive away and perfect for children, as is the Wye butterfly zoo. All in all myself, my husband and our 2 and a half year old daughter had a wonderful time. We will definitely be returning to this gem of a cottage when we back visiting the beautiful Forest of Dean. Thankyou Forest coach house for a fantastic break! And thankyou for the treats left on our arrival.

      Five Stars all round!

The Coach House delivered on all levels, exceeding our expectations and we had the most amazing week at this luxury holiday home. The property catered for our every need, super clean, extremely comfortable and the owners have gone above and beyond to ensure occupants feel at home and welcome. The property is ideally located and we visited many of the local towns and cities during our stay, with the added bonus of the use of their fabulous gardens, which our dog thoroughly enjoyed, especially meeting the donkeys, chickens and even two little lambs! This was our first time visiting this gorgeous part of England and we would definitely return to The Coach House in the future. A huge thank you to Emma for her warmth and welcoming us onto her property, we hope to see you again soon x

The place is beautiful - it’s actually larger than my house and so comfortable, fully stocked kitchen with all the facilities you need, the most comfiest beds and bedding & plenty of towels.

The living room is exceptionally cozy and large. Central heating & a wood burning fire for those cold nights. The hot tub was clean, warm and very relaxing. The venue itself if perfect, quiet & the owners kindly allow you to use their large garden with their rescue donkeys and chickens - my little boy loved visiting them and they are very friendly. It would be perfect in the summer with their Emma went out of her way to welcome us and give us recommendations on what we could do with our 1 year old too. My only warning which isn’t a warning at all is be careful using the toilet at 1am half asleep since this is a period coachhouse, some of the ceilings are low with beams and I smashed my head off them a few times using the bathroom. Entirely my fault!

From the outset, even before arrival the contact from Tracey the owner was first class.

The dog treats and chocolates on arrival were a very nice surprise. I can honestly say that this is a truly exceptional holiday cottage and certainly the best cottage we have stayed in over the many years exploring the UK. It was exceptionally clean and had everything you needed for a home away from home. Being located next to the Forest of Dean, makes it the perfect base for exploring the forest, with multiple walking options only a short drive away. The secure pet friendly garden, means that your dog is free to safely explore. Whilst we didn't have the best weather during the week we stayed, the quality of the accommodation more than made up for it. It is a cottage and location that we will definitely be returning to.
