The Scottish Highlands is the ideal place to visit for the typical Scottish holiday. You can enjoy hiking, mountain biking, skiing in the Cairngorms National Park, or visiting the famous Lock Ness. If you like history, you'll find great castles and other attractions on the Isle of Skye, like the Skye Museum of Island Life or Dunvegan Castle.

All our Scottish Highlands holiday cottages have been chosen to give you a great choice of locations and amenities. Large groups love our hilltop barn conversions. For something more rustic, try our open-plan farmhouses, ideal for families. If your ideal holiday includes your canine companion, we have dog-friendly cottages with enclosed gardens. For something more romantic, we even have secluded log cabins with private hot tubs.

Here at Snaptrip, we list thousands of UK holiday cottages, all backed by our best price guarantee. What our customers say about their holidays

    • Ken - Verified booking

Beautiful house comfortably furnished and well supplied with cooking and eating utensils.

Archie came and introduced himself just after we arrived and told us they were just across the field if we needed anything but didn't disturb us in anyway. The farm has an honesty box selling fresh free range eggs etc. We can vouch for them being free range as we watched the chickens running around the field every morning. The views are amazing in all directions and from every window. It's so peaceful and quiet, you would never guess it's only 10 mins from A9, so easy to get around. 15mins to Newtonmore. 20mins to Kingussie. We drove to Kingussie one morning and ended up driving a wee bit more and a wee bit more because of the wonderful scenery until we found ourselves in Fort William. Didn't mean to do that. Aviemore is just a short drive North. Dalwhinnie a short drive south. Woke every morning to the sound of swifts and sheep. Could have spent the day being entertained by the antics of the swifts. Lots of really nice coffee shops with fresh home baking.

This is an amazing cottage if you want to have a chill out and would also be ideal for walkers.

My daughter and I went for a week's chill out as she needed a break from work. Travelled in all directions and took in the amazing scenery around this area. Christine is an amazing host, even greeted us with two glasses of whisky. She is very friendly and cannot do enough for you. Looks out onto the glen where cows and sheep wander and trees outside cottage where we watched the woodpeckers appear regularly a well as many other birds. Only 12 miles from Drumnadrochit where you can eat in Fiddlers Restaurant and taste some of their amazing malt whiskies. An amazing village just to have a wander in. Nearby is Beauly and a wee bit further on Dingwall. We even drove to Ullapool and the scenery was amazing. First class in every way well maybe the weather was a wee bit disappointing but did not bother us.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Creag-na-Sanais.

It really is a fantastic cottage set in the beautiful Scottish Highlands. The location and scenery are stunning, we especially loved the peace and quiet and being so close to nature. The dining room has windows on three sides giving lovely views across the fields and mountains. The cottage is packed with literature giving great information on local walks and all the many things to see and do in the area and further a field. The owners kindly left milk and delicious cakes for us on our arrival which we thought was a lovely touch. We very much hope to return to this lovely cottage and would recommend it to our friends and family. This truly is an absolute gem of a place. Thank you for a fantastic holiday!

Welcomed by Cathy to a lovely warm, very clean and well equipped spacious house.

Comfortably furnished and with plenty of logs for the open fire (we didn't need it as the central heating excellent) also a good selection of books, games and DVD,s Smart TV and Wi-Fi good. There are everchanging views from every window especially in the Sun / Dining room. It's just a short scenic drive for shops and amenities. We were quite content to just sit back and relax and watch the wild life and the comings and goings of life on a busy farm but there is plenty of information for those who are more adventurous. We had a lovely holiday and hope to come back again. A & C March 2023

Creag-na-Sanais is in a stunning location and well placed to explore the Cairngorms and the wider area.

Plenty to do, whether exploring by road, bike or by foot. Owners very friendly, and on hand next door if needed. The cottage was generally well maintained and very comfortable albeit could do with some modernisation with some of the furniture tired. It was generally clean throughout albeit the cooker hood could do with some attention. The heating oil ran out after a couple of days but the owner very quickly tried to deal with this with additional oil and was very apologetic. This didn’t affect us as we had the open fire in the evening and hot water via the immersion heater.
