What our customers say about their holidays

    • Ashleigh - Verified booking

Coming from London me and my husband wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of London life.

I done a lot of searching and researching and when we came across this place it seemed to good to be true. When we arrived we was met by Peter who showed us around and show us how to use everything, Peter and Lisa also left us a welcome hamper which was very cute and helpful as we forgot to stop and buy milk. The property is so much bigger than the pictures lead you to believe. The views are incredible and getting in the hot tub every morning looking out was just breathtaking, it was so peaceful and quiet and although the WIFI wasn't great being off the road, we didn't actually mind because it allowed us to switch off from everything, but then if you turn off wifi our data worked absolutely fine so was able to Google places to go. When me and my husband plan to go away in the uk unless your going to a hotel you never know what to expect or what will be in your accommodation so we packed for everything, but we didnt need too, they provided dressing gowns for the trip up and down to the hot tub and even a few essentials at the property. Surprisingly even though we came down in February and came in the middle of 2 storms it wasn't as cold as we thought it was going to be, but this property has the benefits of underfloor heating and even on a low heat every part of the property was warm. Anyway that's the end of my long review, so just want to say thank you to Peter and Lisa for our amazing stay.

We stayed at this property and was much looking forward to relax in privacy for a couple of days where the property is located in a beautiful location and it’s very clean so no complaints there.

Just slightly disappointed in the fact where are you stay at silver nugget it is next to the main house, and in the little information, book, that is at the property, the owners make it quite clear that you’ve got to be aware of your surroundings that the family lives next door, so you felt like you were stepping on eggshells a little bit really relax and the fact that you can hear them in there kitchen, so it didn’t feel very private in that way and in the pictures it is very misleading as regards to hot tub. Yes there is access to a hot tub on site but it’s quite some distance away from the main house so in my view, this property was very misleading and the fact that we paid £830. And We couldn’t book in before 4 o’clock on the Friday and we had to leave by 9 o’clock Sunday morning. I think this property is extremely overvalued There are a few places in around the area that we have stay over the last few years, and we have found that is much more facilities and privacy and beautiful little places in other locations , unfortunately we shall not be staying at this property in the future This review is based on our stay on the 10th of February 2023.

Wow! My partner and I had an amazing stay at Little Silver Nugget, the property far exceeded our expectations the photos do no justice it is perfect!

A very spacious, clean and comfortable property in beautiful North Devon, well equipped with everything we could have needed and more even a welcome hamper with fresh eggs, milk etc on arrival which is a nice touch after a long journey! Our hosts were very friendly and helpful and everything about the property has been carefully thought out right down to the last detail! The hot tub is really special, a short walk down from the property with incredible views over the Taw Valley, amazing to relax and enjoy the stunning views! We were able to enjoy the hot tub as much as we liked despite typical November weather so don't let this put you off! The property is located within easy reach of local shops, amenities etc including some fantastic local pubs, we recommend The Bell Inn (Chittlehampton) and The Exeter Inn (Chittlehamholt) for fantastic food and drinks! I have no doubt we will return again soon! Thank you!

An Amazing little Gem set in beautiful Devon countryside.

The views all around the property and especially from the Hot tub are just stunning . The hosts left us a welcome box , including tea coffee and bread ( homemade ) which is a lovely added touch . The accommodation has a touch of luxury from the rain fall combo walk in shower to the bath robes available , underfloor heating and comfy bed . It’s a much bigger annex than you think , in fact it’s huge . It’s based centrally and we visited Woolacombe , Ilfracombe , Westward Ho and Saunton sands beaches and shopped at the Atlantic Village Shoppibg Mall . I can’t recommend Little Silver Nugget highly enough . Our hosts were friendly , not intrusive and very informative . We had all the information needed before we arrived and we were greeted on arrival. If you are thinking of booking - don’t hesitate .

The description of the location of the "woodland hot tub" was "a short walk away".

In reality, we had two choices. The shorter route was about 50m - made up of freshly-churned soft, wet, mud and puddles, followed a set of loose gravel steps. The gradient was quite steep. For someone with mobility issues, like my wife, it was a challenge. The alternative route was about 75m, equally steep in gradient with 2 sets of gates to pass through and more steps to negotiate than on the shorter route. We were determined to make good use of the hot tub and we suceeded, but the walk there and back was unpleasant...even for myself in stout shoes. A bit more information about access to the hot tub is needed, so future visitors will be better informed as to what they are letting themselves in for, especially in bad weather. That said, we would thoroughly recommend the cottage to our more althletic friends!
