What our customers say about their holidays

    • Jane - Verified booking

It is a sweet cottage and we enjoyed our stay.

The cottage is on the caravan park but is nicely sectioned off and fairly secluded. Stargazing from the hot tub is the highlight of this place and the local pub does fantastic food. Unfortunately the boiler broke down during our visit. The owner did very quickly provide us with some electric heaters but it wasn't as relaxing as it should have been having a plumber coming and going. The reason for just 3 stars is that the bathroom lets the place down. There is a non-working storage heater still in place, holes in the wall where a towel rail has been replaced, condensation mould in a few places, shower not great and the room is only heated by a towel rail, which isn't enough to heat the whole room in Winter. Lovely big kitchen table but sofa has been changed from the photos, was fine for two but would be very cosy for four. It was the same cost for 4 nights as for a standard weekend of 2 nights; I would have been fuming if I had paid £200 a night.

Gors is a lovely little cottage secluded by being on a lower level than the main A458 road and therefore out of sight. It is ideally placed for access to all areas of mid and north Wales. There is a little stream running through the garden. There is everything you would need for a pleasant and comfortable break. We have a little dog who absolutely loves Gors and the little paddock adjoining the cottage is ideal for a dog to exercise. For those who want wi-fi access, the signal at Gors is strong and solid. A new feature is a second bathroom upstairs which we found very handy! There is a fish and chip shop and chinese take away in Llanfair Caereinion and shopping is easy in the Tesco store at Welshpool which is only about 30 minutes away. This was our 4th visit and we will definitely be back.

Following our first visit in 2015 we returned. Morgan (the dog) so loved his first holiday here we just had to return. We were once again really lucky with the weather - it was absolutely delightful. We enjoyed all the birds singing, and also Morgan's friend the squirrel returned!! Morgan loved playing in his paddock too. During the week the farmer came and mowed the meadow opposite the cottage for sillage which was fascinating to watch. This time I only banged my head 6 times!! We didn't see any bats this time though! Oh and I must say thank you to the owner for the yummy bara brith which is a lovely trademark welcome when staying here - we will be back again!

      Lovely little find!

Cottage was just what we needed to relax after a long days walk. Had everything we needed, and the welcome pack was a lovely bonus. Is located within the caravan site.. so pretty easy to find. Only improvement we would say is pictures need updating as the hot tub, sofa and bed are different .. not an issue for us but some may be disappointed. Hot tub kept its temperature but did get a little warm for our liking and were unable To turn temperature down. Overall a beautiful little cottage and will definitely be returning !

Ty Haf is a lovely home from home retreat.

The adjacent caravan park was quiet whilst we visited. It's a good location for visiting the mid wales attractions & about a 40 minute drive to the coast. The local pub, about 10 minutes easy walk away serves excellent food & drinks were excellent value. The enclosed front & rear garden areas are well suited to keeping the dogs contained. the hot tub is a nice bonus. Ty Haf is very well equipped & the welcome provisions were a nice gesture. We'd return without hesitation. Dave, Debbie & the doggies
