A blissful week's Stay at Lovely Lily's Pads Dog Friendly lodge in Okehampton Devon Our week-long stay at Lovely Lily's Pads was an absolute delight!
From the moment we arrived, John and Sarah made us feel incredibly welcome. Their warm hospitality set the tone for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. The accommodation itself was immaculate and well-appointed. The decor was charming, blending modern conveniences with a cozy, rustic feel. It was clear that a lot of thought had been put into making the space comfortable and inviting. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring we had restful nights throughout our stay. One of the standout features of Lovely Lily's Pads is its dog-friendly policy. We brought our furry baby harry along, and he had just as much fun as we did. The property has plenty of space for dogs to run around and explore, with a huge inclose field for him to run freely which was a lovely surprise and making it a hassle-free experience for pet owners. Okehampton itself is a charming town with plenty to offer. We explored the local shops, the castle and Simmons park, was also a nice treat one evening when we ordered fish and chips which was recommended by John. The location of Lovely Lily's Pads was ideal for day trips to nearby attractions, including Dartmoor National Park, which was breathtaking an many more others. John and Sarah were always on hand to offer recommendations and ensure we had everything we needed. Their attention to detail and genuine care for their guests made a huge difference. In summary, our stay at Lovely Lily's Pads in Okehampton was fantastic. The dog-friendly environment, excellent accommodation, and the hosts' hospitality made it a memorable experience. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and welcoming retreat, in the peaceful countryside of Devon especially those traveling with pets. We can't wait to return! so we highly recommend Lilyâs pads lodge Thank you John and Sarah for a lovely week away. X

Lilyâs Pad is a beautiful holiday home set in a stunning location.
Lilyâs Pad felt like home from the moment we arrived and had absolutely everything we needed for a lovely relaxing holiday. The owners were lovely, warm, friendly and very welcoming. They made contact prior to our arrival to pin drop the exact location to help us find the holiday home and also offered to put up a football net for our 10 year old son which he absolutely loved. The owners left some treats to enjoy on arrival and brought us a delicious mid-week treat too. The owners were happy to make suggestions and recommendations for activities in the area and further away as well as places of interest, places to buy provisions and where to eat and drink. There is a beautiful enclosed garden with picnic table to sit at and enjoy the views. We really didnât want to leave and canât wait to rebook and visit again next year. Thank you to the owners for sharing their beautiful holiday home with us. It was a truly wonderful place to stay with amazing owners.

A nice place to stay with everything we needed, well positioned too.
This was first time we'd gone anywhere with our dog and he was made welcome. I would recommend it as a nice enough place to stay without a dog too! All I'd question is that the living room is upstairs and kitchen downstairs which makes it difficult to persuade a dog to go back downstairs to sleep if you've been watching TV upstairs together. Hence ours slept upstairs in the living room. We had covers in case he went on the sofas. But he could nudge open our bedroom door easily so we had some disturbed nights. I did find the lounging chair very comfy to sleep on during those nights. On windy nights the light kept going on outside which shone into the living room spooking the dog. There's a washing machine but you need to check the owners aren't already using it. It's a bit ancient and is used a lot. Lovely owners though. Helpful. Chatty. Generous. Thoughtful. I'd go back, but without the pooch.

Just returned from a fabulous break at Lilys Pad - 2 adults, 2 teenagers & a labrador - and wish we could go straight back!
John and Sarah are lovely, welcoming hosts who are always on hand, and their accommodation is wonderful. Perfectly clean, cosy and charming, with everything you need. The rooms are well furnished and warm, with comfortable sofas and beds. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of fridge/freezer space and storage for all your shopping. The decking is ideal for enjoying the night sky, and the garden offers great views of the surrounding countryside as well as plenty of space to exercise the family dog. Having stayed in several places throughout Devon and Cornwall over the last few years, Lilys Pad is one of, if not the best, so far and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Apparently, following some redecoration, the property had been left without heat for some days and was very cold and still with out any heating on when we arrived.
In our view, the electric wall mounted heaters would never be adequate in early spring, winter and late autumn mainly because of the high pitched ceilings in the living room and bedroom[i.e. heat rises].The wood burning stove is nice idea and very fashionable but, in practise, was difficult to light and 'ate' wood with out adding much to the warmth of the main living and sleeping areas. If the current system is going to be retained we suggest in the cold season a good electric fan heater is provided in lieu of the log burner. We,in fact, left a day early to avoid another evening and night at Beech cottage. The enormous TV was also much too big for a small living room.
