    Cirencester Holiday Cottages

Cirencester - a great example of a traditional Gloucester market town - is often referred to as the Capital of the Cotswolds.  The town is jam-packed with historic buildings, with the striking Parish Church of St John Baptist towering over the market square. History enthusiasts may also like to check out the remains of a Roman Amphitheatre, built way back in the 2nd century.

Cirencester is still very much a market town, so visitors may like to comb the stalls of theCrafts and Antiques Market for treasures to take home with them. Finally, no visit to the town is complete without a stroll through the magnificent forest-style garden of Cirencester Park.

At Snaptrip, we offer thousands of properties to choose from, backed by our best price guarantee. Use our handy filter option to ensure you're only viewing holiday cottages that tick all your boxes. There are plenty of holiday cottages suitable for families and some great pet-friendly options too. What our customers say about their holidays

    • Marcus - Verified booking

Overall, a fabulous property in a lovely village.

Just a few minor niggles: no keys in key safe on arrival; unable to get through to Sykes as significantly high number of callers that Fri evening; had to ring the property owner in the end to request access; very unsatisfactory and not fair on the owner; luckily they lived locally and we only had a few minutes to wait; even more unacceptable given check-in time is now 6pm (even with the Covid context, this is very late) No coffee machine or washing machine capsules even thought the information in the cottage stated these would be provided A grater would have been useful in the kitchen A welcome pack (only 1/2 pint of milk in the fridge) would have been appreciated The kitchen knives either need sharpening or renewing The key fob didn't work throughout our stay Property clean, well stocked with kitchen and other items, good quality furnishings

Had a nice couple of weeks staying at the clock house.

Only issues were one shower so small we didn't use it after the first day we used the bath . Surprised to receive a email saying I'd broken the key fob , and will be charged for it .when I arrived the first week the key fob was already broken and was in the key safe separate to the key .so whoever put the key and fob there would have known was already broken. I didn't get a reply to this issue either. On hearing this shocking news I looked around the cottage because I didn't wish to be charged for other things that had nothing to do with me . So I noted some things and sent an email back to Sykes cottages. There is a water stain on the kitchen ceiling, the kitchen light doesn't work and whoever was in the weekend between my stay left a note about a broken shower part .

We stayed at Hayloft Cottage in February 2024 and really loved it there, it is really fabulous.

The moment we walked through the front door we just knew we would feel at home here. Refurbished to its current specification with obvious care and attention, the property is light and spacious, the decoration and furnishings have also been considered in the same way. Everything you need for an enjoyable stay is here. We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Hayloft Cottage. South Cerney is a very nice village with a Co-Op within walking distance and a Delicatessen called Braai House that is well worth a visit, their cooked breakfast is stunning! Hayloft Cottage is an ideal base to explore the area, walking or otherwise. Oxford and Bath are within easy reach, and Cirencester is a stones throw away. Book Hayloft Cottage, you will not be disappointed.

What a fantastic cottage - we had such a great time we have already booked to stay again next year!

The cottage is beautifully furnished and very well equipped with everything you need. The hamper of goodies was extremely generous. Best of all our hosts Hazel and Peter were so welcoming and friendly. The cottage is located in a beautiful village with every amenity including 3 pubs, a deli, a fish and chip shop and post office. We thoroughly recommend the George for a good pub meal and the fish and chip shop (which opens Thursday, Friday and Saturday). There are lots of beautiful Cotswold villages and towns to visit including Tetbury, Stow on the Wold and Burford and in the summer there is the nearby waterpark. As before, we had such a wonderful time, on our last day we booked to come again next year - what better recommendation is that?!
